Didn't want to hijack the http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,43975.0.html from StormRider, But was concerned that the rider mentioned in that post was a John Doe for a bit. I usually toss my wallet into a saddlebag for comfort reasons, but do wear dogtags for ID purposes. What does everyone else do? I had the dogtags made up locally a few years back with my name, bloodtype, and phone number on it.

Dog tags are a good idea. I usually have my id in a saddlebag also. A "card carrier" isn't a bad solution either. Just carry license and one or two essential cards and maybe a little cash. Keep the "money-stuffed" wallet in the bags.

The medical team that treated him would look for ID when he came in but barring that say if he had id on his bike and not on him personally they more than likely wouldn't know. This would be up the officers at the scene especially being in that bad a condition they want to treat as fast as possible. I always have my cell a wallet on me and insurance paper work on the bike. There are always finger prints also if things really get bad. Have learned not to carry papers in my wallet only the bare necessities if I need a note I take a pic of it with my phone and that way my wife cant wash it with my pants and keeps the wallet thin and small. Money cc license health card that's it.

Its either in my vest pocket or in the saddle bag. The last mc wreck we had we looked for ID, just out of habit. I cut his pants off but no wallet in the back pocket. We worked him in the truck for awhile. Asked the other medics/LEO's to look in his jacket or saddle bags. Ended up being in his front pocket. The Leo's ran his plates and printed a picture of him and was a match. Most of the time they can run plates for you. If it severe enough the medics wont have time to looks for ID and stuff. The Leos can do all that. Here they go to the hospital to continue there report. As far as medical ID 'most' of the time it is not important. If you got grey matter squirtin out the back of your head, knowing your a diabetic wont matter. Only good thing to know esp if your unconcious is med allergies. That way we wont give you any narcs your allergic to. Anything else we do should not effect your present medical px. If we find med bottles we can figure out what medical history you have by those.

I used to have big fat George Kastanza wallet. Now that I have my Concealed Carry I have the Driver License and the CCW my credit card truck key and also military ID in a small ID folder in one back pocket and a somewhat slimmer wallet in the other back pocket........feels like nothing after being used to the big-old-fat one

Wallet in the carry bag behind the back rest. Cell phone in a glasses case-one of the hard ones in the trunk. Guess i should make up a meds list and known(none)allergies. RIDE SAFE.

I have one of those big fat George Kastanza wallets. I don't carry it in my hip pocket.....haven't done that for several decades......but I do usually either carry it in my hand or slip it in a big pocket when I'm wearning cargo shorts (which is all the time unless I'm riding the bike). When I'm on the bike, it goes in a pouch on my tank bib.......the one I got from Talisman....identical to this one...... My cell phone is clipped to my hip. All of the above may or may not be a good idea....but it's how I roll.

i had that ID chip inplanted in my right hand. it has all my information and i never have to worry about leaving home without it. works great! they say in a few years i'll be able to use it for bank withdrawls for as a credit card purchase. only hurt for about a day, it's a tiny grain of rice size and you can't even notice it.
it's nice not having to worry about not being known if i get knocked out in an accident, all my medical allergies are listed on it also.

On longer rides I've been using this. http://www.smoothtoolz.com/store/agora.cgi?cart_id=3682254.2930*3P8VP6&xm=on&product=ThighPak A thigh pack from Smoothtoolz.com. Holds wallet, cell phone, checkbook, maps, Ins. papers, etc. Works pretty well. Seen a group of Buffalo Soldiers (MC Club) from Florida when we were in the Badlands a couple years ago and they all were wearing them. Asked them where they got them and Smoothtoolz is where you get them.

A while back I had a dog tag made with my name, birth year, son's (don't want them to call the wife) phone number, organ donor, NKA, NHM. If I get hit hard enough to break it away, it won't matter.

Do you have one onboard? Most around here do I believe. Yes, its a tough book. I have not used it in over a year. I just looked and it does have a sd card slot. Pretty sure we would not use it tho for that. If you are awake, you should be able to tell us your meds. If your not awake, we are not taking the time to read the sd card. Now this is just me/ us. Most of your rural FD/EMS might not have the $$ for a lap top. I know none of our FD's do. Just a desk top pc. It is a good idea tho.

Just ordered a set of dogtags from acuarmy.com. You get to have 5 lines of text on each tag. I was able to get everything I needed on one and had the 2nd as a duplicate. Comes with a chain and the silencer.

When I raced a car in the SCCA, we had our names, blood type and med allergies on the back of the helmet. I still do this on my bike helmets. My wallet is in a saddlebag. I use an electric label maker.
