Wow..... I had my front Avon Venom wearing kinda thin, to and maybe slightly past the wear bars and didn't get the Shinko front tire to try out.  I did have a new Metzler on a spare wheel (have a set) and opted to put the front on now.... since usually I get two rears to one front, but that has not been the case with Metzler in the past.  In any event I changed the tire/wheel out last night and took it for a brief ride.... all felt well.  I remembered that I didn't have to add any weights to the tire when I did my static balance and it felt pretty good last night (even tho it was somewhat under inflated).   This morning before a long ride, I opted to install the Ride On in the front tire before heading out on the trip.  Wow.... not sure if it was the difference between an old and new tire or the Ride On or both... but that was the smoothest surest ride and handling that I have felt in a long time.  I am hoping that the Ride On helps the Metzler's last a little longer than they have in the past for me.  I know Metzler's have handled well for me... I just never got the mileage I thought it should get out of it.... and I believe you do give up some mileage for handling on those.  We shall see....

Not sure how many more miles I will get out of the rear Avon, but I have a new mounted Metzler rear tire in hot standby.... just need to install and then put in the Ride On for that one as well.  But I think it will last a little while yet.

Oh and the Avon had Dyna Beads, which I hated due to them clogging the angled valve stem when checking pressure.... a real PITA when you are not near a compressor.  Not sure if those caused my slow leak over time or not... but I have had my fill of those.
