Can anyone tell me where to get an oil filter for the Valk, besides the dealer? It seems that at one time someone had posted a list of numbers that would fit and where to buy them. Walmart here used to carry them, but not anymore......any help appreciated.....

Any auto parts store will have the filter. Don't know the filter numbers off hand. Just go to the top of the page and type into the search. you will find lots of threads about oil filters

Clipped from my Valk Resources I have saved from the forum Wal-Mart ST filters are made by Champion Labs who also make STP, Bosch and Mobil-1 filters. ST6607 52 sq in of media. same size as OEM ST7317 62 sq in media same dia 1/2 longer then OEM ST3593A (160 sq in? not confirmed) larger dia but shorter than ST3717 all of the above have the required 8-11 psi by-pass valve. this site has cut open 6607 and 7317 filters http://theoildrop.server101.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=6;t=001207 this site has a cut opened ST3593A and is a cross reference with the honda/toyo filter from the oildrop site. http://community.webshots.com/album/81528451STiyTw It looks like the 3593 is the best for filter area and flow. Cost is $2 at Wal-Mart.

I made a note on my IPhone of all the cross-referenced part numbers for many parts including the oil filters. That way when I am at the parts store, I can have all the numbers at my fingertips. Here's a screen shot of the oil filter section: YMMV as far as the brands and their filtering quality. I usually use the Walmart or the Purolator.

+ 1000 on the Purolator Pure One filters.
The PL 14612 is the standard (oem) size (about 2.5").....and the PL 14610 is a little bigger (about 3.25") and will hold 4 full quarts.
Have found them at Advanced Auto Parts locally, but I'm sure you can find them most anywhere.

The wally world filters and hence the numbers NO longer available. When you you back to the oil filter section all they have is Purolator. RIDE SAFE.

Nothing wrong with going also to a Honda cycle dealer and spend under 10 bucks for the Honda filter either for a few more bucks is all. I use Wix (Napa has them usually) or save a few more bucks and go to a CarQuest autostore and have them cross-reference a WIX re-badged as CarQuest for a Valkyrie. Also, I have used K&N 303 (black) or 303C (chrome) or Hi-Flo makes a black one with 303 as the number just like K&N. All the oil filters I mentioned are black which to me is what I want since my cycle is also black.

Our Walmart quit selling Supertech filters and only sells puralator now. That's what I'm using now. My miller lite can fits over it like a glove

I use the PL 14610. It seems to match the yellow on the bike close enough, since the chrome cover doesn't fit any more.

Why not go with the OEM filter?
I get three OEMs at a time from HDL, along with a case of Honda oil...
