If you have insurance then you understand what they are trying to do. Or if you have ever pulled a building permit then you will know what they are trying to do. Insurance companies will charge what ever they feel is appropriate to cover their risk. If the scientists say the sea will rise then so be it your rates will go up. Same for building all to accommodate dubious predictions. I think its a scam and glad they did it. To me that would be like stealing money out of these peoples pockets for no reason I can understand why they are upset. I just had my house insurance go up 1000.00 a year why, my house had all the proper things they were looking for except 2 back doors had windows in them and there was a 10 percent raise so where did all the rest increase come from? Effectively it was more like a 30 percent raise. Any conceivable scenario that the insurance companies can use they will regardless if it will ever happen. I am effectively paying for someone elses roof although my house to date has been ok. Also this global warming is not a science to much back and forth.

Sounds to me like the ELECTED OFFICIALS are just representing the wishes, beliefs of their electorate.

These are just normal politicians being politicians. No surprise here at all! To many politicos, facts are what they think they believe will get them re-elected and the 'truth' is what their talking points are, repeated over and over again until it gets accepted as truth.

Remember, the most common political philosophy is simply this: never let the truth get in the way of a good story.

On my, talk about generalization.  Guess you enjoyed a lot of the kool aide.  I don't have enough information about this and reading one article is not sufficient information to make such a judgement.  You do know that reporters, papers and news orgainizations also lean left or right don't ya?  IMHO, most lean left but, that's my perspective.  Blatant generalization like:

Serves only to show you don't care to investigate or research the issue.  I'm not suggesting this is a good law or a stupid law but, I do believe there's more reason that it is being consider than "flat earthers" agenda.

Global warming my A-s.   What a load of crap that is based on pseudo science to make a select few more powerful and richer.  Another ploy to force their will on the masses that they look down on and truly believe will swallow any cool aid they pour.  Keep telling the lie and with the left elitest jumping onthe bandwagon to help and tons of nieve people will begin to believe at least that it may be possible.  Pity the fools.

No, he's right!  Even Chris Matthews says so.  He calls Romney et. al. that, and so much more, all within 30 seconds so it must be true...

Actually, I prefer an independent perspective.  Neither far right or far left but.............Well, it won't do any good so let's just leave it at that.
