Those of you who have the electric fuel shutoff, where did you pick up the hot wire to control it? I know there is several different wires, just wondering if there was a common location everyone uses.

I grounded my Dan Marc to the engine using one of the mounting points left vacant when I desmogged and used the hot lead of the Accessory leads on my Interstate for power when the key is on. I used MarkT's excellent instructions found here:

All the best,

I tapped the power lead for the rear coil. That way if the engine shuts off the the solenoid closes.

Ditto on what Marty said. That's where I hooked up mine.

I had some occasional misfiring at high rpm's when I had mine on a coil so I moved it to the accessory terminal and all is well.

Wired in a relay with diode as a latch to power the dan-marc, and triggered it with a hidden pushbutton. Power to the latch is from the kill switch. Wired in a LED which points at some of the chrome so I can see it's reflection, in parallel with the solenoid power, so I can see if I have a powered fuel solenoid. All of this makes it anti-hijack. If the ignition is switched off, or the kill switch is hit, the dan-marc goes off. Now if you get the bike started and don't hit the hidden pushbutton, you will run out of gas in less than a mile. Doesn't take long to get in the habit of hitting the pushbutton right after starting it.
