I need a new rear skin and want to remove the wheel myself for a dealer install of the tire.  Can I do this with the belly tank installed?  if so, how?  Any good articles written on this topic?

thanks!

No need to remove the belly tank.  See R&M's site for details:  http://www.rmworksinc.com/Lift.html

Thx.  I know I can lift it, but will I be able to remove the wheel with the limited downward travel of the swing arm with the belly tank in place?

I just looked at the door chock picture, that's pretty cool, a belly tank is also
a sort of stay-on-the-bike adapter...

I don't have a belly tank, so I can only imagine what's involved... if you can't
lower the swingarm enough to do what you want, would taking the rear fender
section off help? I always take my rear fender section off when I change tires.
There's a little wiring connector for the tail light that you have to deal with, but
it is pretty simple...

Yes you will.  You need to unbolt the shocks then raise the wheel in the fender so you can remove the axle over the exhaust.
