Does Gary E. still make shock bushings ?? ..... I'm in need of replacing both of mine ....  Is it wise to replace both upper's & lowers ?? ....  I assume just the uppers wear out mostly ...  I had been thinking of maybe making mine from some off road shock bushing made of the Poly material , is this possible ?? .....  Thanks the Geezer  crazy2

Hey Tank , so sorry I did not know that Gary had passed away .... I assume the bushings for the VTX 1800 are the same for our Valks ??  and should I replace the lowers too while I'm at it OR just the uppers ??  Thanks the Geezer  crazy2

bottoms don't seem to wear out. the green bushings for vtx seem to be the most popular. they slip right in.

Hey Tank , thanks for Ms Portia's email address  cooldude I just sent her an email , but in the mean time the local Stealership has two shock bushing in stock for $ 5.00 ea. , I'm thinking of picking them up just for now , I can't stand the wobble anymore , and I'll wait on Ms. Portia's reply back about what she has .... I'm assuming her husband Gary had made a bunch of these bushing and stock piled them , if so I better pickup two set of the these better than stock bushing for later ....  Thanks again the Geezer   crazy2

I just put the 1800 vtx green poly bushings in the valk and I can say it handles a lot better than the worn out stock rubber ones.  I had to order them from the local dealer here 2.78 a piece and they had them in a few days.  We'll see how well they hold up....the stockers had 60K on them and yes they were shot.
What ya think......junk or not?

Hey Dragon-slayer , I noticed you said Green Poly ... are the VTX 1800 bushings made of the poly material & they are green in color , just curious .... So I assume they are not like blk. hard rubber that come on the the Valks ???  I had thought about going to an off road store and try to match up the Valk bushing to an off road shock bushing made of the Poly material  ....  Thanks the Geezer  crazy2

Yeah the bushings for the vtx 1800 are a poly material (stiffer than the rubber ones I took out) and do have a green tint to them.  If you order the p/n 52489-HN0-671 from the earlier post it will be the green tint poly ones.

I figure for $2.78 a piece I would give them a shot.  The bushings are sort of hour glass shaped with the center being the thinest.  You might be able to find those bushings at an off-road bike shop.  If I remember right that bushing is used in alot of different Honda bikes (off-road and street use).

Hey Dragon Slayer , went to the local Stealership and they did not have any bushings for the 1800 VTX and that part number is for the bottom bushing because the VTX went to a needle bearing on the top , but they did have one pair OEM's on the shelf for the Valk , SOO  I got them and put them on last nite and what difference  Shocked new bushings can make  uglystupid2 and I also order two sets of Gary's bushings from Ms. Portia so I can have some better bushings for later on .... she told me she has a few sets left so thats why I ordered 4 .... their $17.00 for two OR $ 32.00 for four plus $2.00 shipping either for 2 or 4 bushings .... Thanks for your HEP  cooldude .....  Thanks the Geezer  crazy2
