Damn, I had plans to go get my new trailer in that area.

Think I might just let them hang onto it a little longer.

Blame it all on Obama, he is the one who is trying to kill us all off.
BUT, he will figure out a way to blame it on Bush.

If I was a terrorist with a few gallons of gas..............................................

I saw some vast areas of OK, NM, CA, etc just  dry as a bone.

FB and I were in Durango last week.... Saturday morning as were loading the bikes to leave, there was ash all over the bikes.  Friday evening there was a fire on the other side of the mountain to the west....  made a fantastic sunset....  Sure hope they get some rain soon... without lightning...

Sister N Law lives in the Springs, she has been evacuated twice this week and allowed back in.  She's in her home now as of this posting but, prepared to leave at a moment's notice.  Spoke with her this morning again, frightened she is.  But, she is prepared to evacuate should it be necessary.   She told me this morning that she has five different friends that lost their homes to this fire.

Scary, hell yes.  Told her this morning I'd start that way this morning if she wanted me to.  We can have her house empty by tomorrow evening if necessary but, I know that's not a realistic approach.   By the time I got there, what ever was going to happen would have already be done.

All I can really offer is moral support and my prayers.  Fighting fires is something most folks don't want to do, I know I don't but, I thank and praise those who do.

Give a Fire Fighter a hug, handshake or just your support, when you need them, they don't hesitate, they act.  I love them.

Scary for sure!

We had our town evac last year about this time. Billed then as the largest fire in New Mexico. That has now had to take a backseat to the Gila Wilderness fire, still burning and now the largest in NM history.

My heart goes out to you. It's a very humbling experience, glancing through your possessions, trying to determine what to take and what to possibly never see again. Keeping in mind you can take only what you can load into a Monte Carlo (not much).

What may have seemed worse, we could get back into town and I was able to get both the Valks, but the uneasy sense of the unknown and one more chance to take a few more items of sentiment.

Here was ours from last year. The building straight ahead was "the office", Los Alamos Med Center. Reporting for duty, rolling out the disaster plan, preparing for closure.

I wish you all the best.
