I got in a nice 100 mile ride yesterday. Temps were in the high 80's but comfortable with the mesh jacket.  I didn't take pics as everything is brown here, very short on rain.

The 'Strom is going to stay in the garage for now as temps tomorrow are predicted to go to 105 degrees, no rain in sight!

Here I am talking about a 100 mile ride and reading about Britman's ride with pics.  Oh well,  any ride for me is a blessing! cooldude

You know it Wayne!  Ride it if you got it.  cooldude

I have not had a 100 mile ride yet this year.  Lots of commuting.  some 100 mile DAYS with travel for work... but not ANY 100 mile pleasure rides.

Temps to 100, but it's a DRY heat.

So is a dang OVEN.  Dry heat my fat butt!  It was chilly on the ride in this AM.  58 or so... and 92 later.  104 tomorrow.

You know it's hot... when its cooler to shut your visor on the full face helmet.  It feels like riding into a hair dryer.

We sure do need some rain.

I sweat very easy anymore.  Worked 5 minutes getting into the Chevy Trike, soaked my shirt, so I went out on the freeway and laid into that sleeper engine.
Buddy of mine who is an LEO, pulled me over.   Went through the normal ritual, license, insurance and etc.    He said he clocked me at 123 MPH.  I said oops, he said you take the next exit, cross over & reenter the freeway, get off at your exit and drive it home like a normal person as I'll be following you.   Got home, he tripped his yipper, waved and left.    Wife asked what that was all about, told here it was Randy and she didn't ask anymore questions, so I didn't volunteer any either.

Yesterday I had an appointment with my O2 supplier on trying to get enough little tanks to handle my trailer trip.

Bought a new trailer that will carry my grass mower with the grass catcher attached.    Takes to damn long to take it off and put it back on.   1st time I took it off, I was 45 minutes, down to about 30 minutes now.   However putting it back on took just a few minutes shy of 3 hours.    Not worth the hassle to take it off and put it on.   So, selling my old trailer on consignment, and picking up the new on on Friday the 13th in Colorado.    If we get in in time the pickup will be on the evening of the 12th.    If I wait till Friday, the owner said we could all have a Golf cart tour of the work area, where the trailer is built and then they will show us some shortcuts to doing certain maintenance items, so, I said 13th, since it is my trailer, my support group will follow or find another ride home.    LOL.

Son's new lady, has never been in Colorado before so we plan on seeing some things around Denver and doing the top of Pikes Peak, it is all paved now to the top, then catch Dodge City, KS and then invade Kansas City, KS & MO.   Stop and see some relation and a new member in the family, he was born about 2 months ago.   Then home, unless I run out of O2 tanks, then it will be a all the way, only stopping for gas and potty calls.    I've found out I can do about 4 hours with out the dreaded hose struck in my nose.

I'll also, see if the high altitude will bother my breathing.

RJ be very alert going up in altitude.

If you get a headache or feel light headed

TURN AROUND.

If you already have a problem with getting enough O2 you must not be pig headed and keep going up.

We just got this email here at the University:
A STRONG UPPER LEVEL RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE IS EXPECTED TO BUILD IN FROM THE WEST ON THURSDAY. HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL RISE TO NEAR 100 DEGREES OR HIGHER ON THURSDAY WITH READINGS APPROACHING 105 DEGREES BY SATURDAY ACROSS WEST ALABAMA. HIGH TEMPERATURES NEAR OR ABOVE 100 DEGREES ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK AS WELL.

Awesome!  It's already like riding in a blast furnace in the afternoon and only going to get hotter.  Oh well, I'm going in for surgery Friday morning and won't have to ride again until next Thursday.  Maybe it will cool off a little by then.
