We are ok for now. Thanks for checking on us. Last night was scary for sure. I have an excavator, skid loader, and a compactor that I had rented for a project I am working on right in the fire zone. No one is allowed in so I don't know the condition of the equipment but I am about 90 % sure it is a pile of melted steel. I am almost certain that the house I was working on is gone. We won't know anything for at least another day or two. There will be a lot of folks without a home to go back to so if your so inclined there are plenty of people that could use your prayers here. It looks like a war zone.

OK here as well.  We are close to the mandatory evac line West of us, but so far, just smoke.  + 1000 what Damon said about folks needing prayers!!!

Here's hoping for the best for all that are affected. I consider Colorado my home state and the Springs my home town, even if I have not lived there in way to many years, and when I see that fire it makes me sick, I just hope it will be under control soon.
Everyone affected please take care.

yea...that package i sent you seems VERY trivial right now...........

I didn't even realize JUST where you lived, until Sherry ....who shipped the package ...said to me "you do realize WHERE you are trying to ship this package to?" I said "yea, to Misfit in CO". She said "WHERE in CO".

BINGO.........the lightbulb went on. The package went out, but right now...that's probably THE LEAST of your concerns.  Sent ya' a PM this morning............

Things have calmed down a considerable amount here in town. The fire still rages on. 346 confirmed homes burned so far. I think the house that I was working on has been spared from what I can tell from a aerial photo. The neighbors not so lucky. As far as the equipment is concerned I could not see it in the photo. Best case cinerio would be that the fire fighters commandeered it and used it to save someone's home and kept the equipment safe. Thank you guys for your concern for my family.  cooldude I have had pm's, text, emails, and phone calls from friends from all over checking on us. That means a lot to me and will not be forgotten. It looks like a war zone on the north west end of town.

Damon,
I'm glad you and your family are good. I have a good friend who is a paramedic left 2 days ago to go there to help with the firefighters. He said they were dropping right & left from exhaustion.
Good luck and stay safe...you guys are in my prayers.

Glad your home is okay and you all are safe. My niece and her family were evacuated in the High Park fire for a couple of days and my brother and sister-in-law up by Livermore were just let back in to their home after a week and a half of praying from afar. Thank heavens they haven't lost their homes so far tho still on notice to be prepared to leave. Tho they had time to get the animals to safety and take some essential paperwork and treasures...well...how do you choose from a life time of favorites? Makes ya sick thinking about it.

Anyhooo...I hope the equipment you rented was insured and you don't lose your shirt on any of that.

Peace

Here north of the AFA we are still on pre evacuation order so we are ready to leave if necessary. As Misfit said things have calmed down considerably for most of us but there is still some real danger out there especially for the Firefighters . They did a bunch of back burns yesterday and the smoke in the air is  really bad here this morning. I cant imagine someone with breathing problems trying to breath this stuff. Those in charge estimate that full  containment will be around  July 16. So that being said, maybe we will just have to live with the smoke in the air.
We here in Colorado really appreciate all the concerns, thoughts and prayers.  Raymond
