Feel free to thank me

Last night was the local "cruise night" and I rode the Valk down to meet my dad with his '32 Ford at the drive in. There were a couple of California Highway Patrol motor officers grabbing some food and checking out the cars. One of them asked me about my bike, we talked for a minute and he asked if he could sit on it. I said "sure". He climbed on and got a weird look on his face, stood up and sat down again. He asked why he couldn't see the gauges. I told him that yes, they disappear twice a day at dawn and dusk. He kept standing up and sitting down and finally he said, "I'm never writing one of these bikes a speeding ticket."
