I'm a Ridley Scott / Alien / Blade Runner etc fan.

I'll give the movie 1 1/4 thumbs up.

Max Headroom as the humanoid robot. Really??!!!

OK you can breathe here with your helmet off. Oh no you can't.

OK you can't breathe here with your helmet off. Oh yes you can.

Too many plot holes and story line holes.

Visually good but too many logical anomalies.

sounds like blade runner, you need the directors cut to make sense of it all....

Not at all.

Depending upon the day Blade Runner is my top movie or in my top 3.

I saw it maybe 15 to 18 times at a small movie theatre in London's Soho over about 6 months.

I'd watch Prometheus again if it was on TV at some point.

We lost power on Saturday... they said "heat related failure".... No S@#T!!!

Went to a nice cool theatre to see it... I liked it, but... yes.... plot holes

(spoiler alert!)

Like in the original, when they found the "Pilot" in the Alien ship... suit was closed..... and big hole in the chest area.... they even made comments about it....

IN this one... the "Pilot" ended up dead in the "lifeboat"..... HUGE Hole....

But I see a sequel or 2 to fill in some of the holes.. but this is a chance to see more Ridley...

Overall worth the regular price, but not the 3D price......

Ill see it on HBO again... to find all the holes.... I liked the look and most of the plot.... And I like Ridley.....

Talk Amongst Ya' Selves.....

Yeah, but they needed to have come up with some nonsensical reason to show her nekkid.

I agree completely with Britman. Among my issues with the film;

1.) You don't put cranky, unprofessional, facially tattooed geologists on missions like this. 1.5 trillion and it looks like you're scraping the bottom of the talent barrel?

2.) You would not land on manual. For that matter, you would probably spend quite a while in survey orbit before even considering a landing. In short, things happen way too quickly in this film. They didn't have to show the tedium of science and a properly executed mission but they could have alluded to it.

3.) You don't just get over seeing a Nordic ice queen barbecue your BFF that easily.

4.) Guy Pearce was a mistake. He's a fine actor, but it was evident that it was a young man in makeup playing an old man. Not only that but he was pretty much unrecognizable as Guy Pearce when in the getup. So it was both distracting and served no purpose. They should have just cast an actual old man in the role.

5.) How did the baby squid turn into a giant squid while in isolation with no food source? It's impossible.

6.) NO biologist would try to pet a cursed alien they had just seen for the first time. Hell, no biologist would try to pet a chimpanzee they had seen for the first time.

7.) The "let's hold hands and die together!" heroics seemed forced. People just don't sacrifice themselves that easily based on some wonky scientist's word.

That said the effects were excellent (aside from the distracting makeup) and the design on the "engineer" aliens and the Prometheus itself was very cool.
