The only thing i wish was my bike had some comfortable place to put my feet.the stock pegs are way too rearward for me.I have a stalk from some goldwing pegs i rest my heels on,only have 30 inch inseam, but due to mc wreck in 2000 i have to keep my right leg pretty straight. If you have either version, what are your likes or dislikes? Thanks.

I have the Tourer-version of the BBT forward controls. I would hate
to be without them. They seemed awkward at first but not anymore.  Like most people
I modified them - I cut off his peg mounts and put Kuryakyn 4050s with 6 inch
stalks on at the curve of the lower-smaller bar on the engine guard... I find that
mostly my heel stays on the Kuryakyn peg... the setup is very comfortable when on
the open road, and I put my feet up a lot in the mountains when nobody's charging...

The original pegs and original controls still work just as well as before, they're real important
when you need to be in the attack position....

I have forward controls on mine for about 10 years, when I got them the peg mounts where way to high so i cut me some flat bar drilled 3 holes ( 2 for mounting them on their brackets ) and 1 for the pegs to mount which lowered them just right, the only issue I  have with them are the rear brakes seem to be weakend by using the extend rod that comes with the kit other than that I won't ride with out them.

I miswrote. My inseam is 30 inches, not 39.BBT new style forward controls would work.$340.00.Its worth it to me.

They say the newer ones hang lower than the older style - I have the older style...

I've never dragged mine yet... my buddy Frank Smoak dragged his older-style controls once and
it threw him off the road... (he got it back on the road  cooldude )

Anyhow, I'd be nervous about ones that hang lower than the ones I have...

I've got the Mick O Pegs.   Good place to rest your legs in a more downward position.  Don't lean too far over when they're in the down position though, or they'll drag....  uglystupid2

Mike thats about how far down my makeshift highway pegs hang down now.If i lean over pretty far going around a corner or in a curve my heel strikes the pavement.I think actually if i could just move back about 2 inches the stock pegs might work.I thhought about modifying the stock seat but the fender well is right about where i would need to move it back to.I could still reach the handlebars because i slouch forward when i ride.

I imagined the micopegs would bottom out too.great for straightline touring.
