And the first tocatch my eye was this beastie. I dislike the look of most choppers becase of the large volume of air between the gas tank and top of engine. I spoke with the owner who told me it would cruise all day at 130mph. I asked him where he had gone on his last trip at that sort of speed all day. He got a sudden interest in another converstaion. Anywhoo I still like the look of the bike. Good bar hopper if tha'ts yer thang. I wonder how much lift thses fans give? Very nice paint job and bodywork. TO the sublime from the ridiculous Owner wants $65,000 for this car Hubba, hubba A beauty My eyes, my eyes Oh no they got me Then I went for a quick zip to the N GA mountains A relative of Steamer? The stream bed was too gravelly and sandy with diagonal strips of rock running across it. Discretion was the better part of valor today. This will be my last visit to this montly car show. Over 50% of the cars today were late model mainly 350Z, Audis Infinitis, Pontiacs, Chargers, BMW, Mustangs etc etc. Nothing wrong with those cars just not as interesting as the older ones. It's making the parking lot look more like a Car Max used car lot than a show lot. The amount of older cars has been steadily dwindling as the influx of the "Fast and Furious" crowd has increased.

Cool pics. That's been a disappointing trend in the local shows my girlfriend and I go to as well. I like seeing cars older than I am, pushbutton shifters, geniune knockoff wheels, lake pipes, hilborn fuel injection, straight 8 engines, flatheads and at one a couple years ago...a mint origonal CBX Honda. You get my point.
I love attending the shows with my dad, whose almost 70. I love the look in his eyes and the tone of his voice when he says how he remembers when this car was first in the dealers lot, or how his friend had one of these, or how Grandpa owned one of this model. I know what the portholes in early Buicks signify thanks to my dad. I know how rare it is to see a working Thermactor system on a Boss Mustang thanks to my dad.
If I wanted to see a brand new Challenger, Vette, Mustang or the like....I would go to the dealer. Hell I might even get to drive the car there. My little bro sells new Chevys and I got to beat on a new Camaro SS before I saw one on the road.
I do like new Stangs and Challengers. I wish I could look at one in my garage. I have a 303 hp Grand Prix GXP. It is the fastest, quickest, best handling and best stopping Grand Prix (stock) that Pontiac ever made. But it's not gonna be seen anywhere but outside the gate of a car show. It may in 30 years or so...

He had a 57 Merc 2 door station wagon in white with the seafoam green interior. I know what yer talkin bout Britman-same thing happening here in the Ozarks old iron wise. RIDE SAFE.

Alot of really great pics Hoser. I spy a whole lotta nice old stangs in there. Actually all nice cars, but some hold a place in my heart. I've got to take some time to examine them all in detail, then I'll be asking more questions! BTW...whats with the pics of that "Jap bike" in there??

Thanks Paul..For sharing .... Seeing this RD350 would have been worth the trip. I had one just like it back in the early 80's as a second bike. I set up my RD with a Cafe racing body and did an enormous amount of engine work on it. The bike would out-run anything on a race from 0-65mph. It scared me a few times when I tried to race on curves because the powerband was so strong and abrupt. When it "jumped on the pipe" it flew. I've priced a few stock ones a while back, the nicer examples are rediculously expensive. If I ever get another one I'll stay out of the motor and just ride it for what it is. The RD400 was the last street legal 2-stroke, if I remember correctly.

Hoser All 3 are sweet! Love that Mustang. If it matters...I have a 1971 Mustang Grande'. It was my Grandmothers car. It's got a 351 Cleveland 2bbl, automatic, A/C and only 64,000 on the clock. It's brown with a brown vinyl roof and everything is origonal...down to the hubcaps. Right now it's being stored at my dads lakehouse. I need to replace the brake lines, at the moment they aren't bad, but I worry about a panic stop with 40+ year old hoses and the like. No rust! The only bad part is the dash pad has a crack in it...and I cannot find an OEM ginger dash pad only green and black are left. I shall keep hunting. Even the (now useless but perfect) spare is in the trunk. Lucky me!

Sounds nice, most have vinyl tops, if it does, is it still good? Hope so, they quit making the correct grain, any grain will work, though a real picky Stang guy will notice. It would only matter in concors competition. Hoser
