Friday Night Storms

I may have missed th thread but this is the first time I have power and internet access (at work  ).
I hope all that were affected weathered the storms well. Our  area looks like a war zone and my house is a mess but all is good, no real damage to the house just a mess of trees and of course the ton of food that is gooing in the trash, but other than that just loads of work before it looks normal again.

Same storm, same mess.  Was out running (restarting) the generator at 330AM yesterday nite, after the power came back on......... who knew?

I saved no electric yesterday............had the house like a frig.  90+ degrees and humid indoors sux large, esp for days on end.

5000 Watt generator out in the shed, rigged to backfeed the 220 amp power box, and power the whole house (not any 220 circuits, including the AC, thou) is the way to go.   Problem is, keeping a generator you only need once every year to 18 months in tip top shape.  Mine was drained of fuel, with carb bowl cleaned, new plug, air filer, oil, fresh treated gas, and not running too much in the house to overload it........ and it still liked to shut off every so often (risking brown-out to all things electronic, fortunately all of which are set up with dual surge protection).

All telephone service and cell towers still down.
