Been counting the days, and planning for the heat, looking forward to seeing all my old friends, and meeting a buncha new ones...  But, it looks like I'm gonna miss only my 3rd InZane.

Just found out that my 19 year old son (Austin) will be having surgery on Thursday the 19th.  My plan had been to hop on the beast, and head south on Saturday the 21st.  It is not life or death surgery, but they said to plan on him spending a day or two in the hospital after the surgery, then heading home to recover.

He lives with me, and with his mom's current living arrangement (shacked up with the guy she left for), Austin wants to get better in his own home/bed...  I've had the week off for InZane scheduled for months, so I will be spending it taking care of my son, rather than getting rowdy with a buncha old, fat bikers  Undecided

I'm gonna miss all you goof balls...  I'm holding out hope that come Monday or Tuesday, following surgery, he will tell me that my 24/7 care is no longer needed, and I may be able to do the 675 miles in a day, and at least make a day or two.

Gonna be looking forward to lotsa pictures and stories  Wink

Sorry to hear that Steve.  I always have fun when I see you.

Tell your son good luck.

While disappointed, your priorities are straight.

Good luck to you too pal.

Steve,

Sure hope you're able to make it inZane, if not know you'll be where you're supposed to be. Make your plans to come then focus on your son and his recovery. You're a good father; things will work out.

Best wishes to both you and your son. So, as they say we'll see you "if the good Lord is willing"

Blessings my friend,
Carolyn

Are you an organ, tissue and eye donor for your state? Did you know one person can save or enhance the lives of up to 75 people. The # of people waiting for organs in the US would overflow the University of Michigan football stadium. It's the biggest in the country. Will seat over 109,000.

Tell Austin I said to listen to the Dr's and Dad.
He is the one who rode around your area on the Chevy with me isn't he.
Good luck on the surgery and heal properly.   Never want to have to do it twice.   That just isn't healthy.    I got the 'T' shirt to prove it.

I'm with you on the pictures and stories.

If the attendees ride Hwy 7, go down the 1st time SLOW, then after you have a feel for the road, ya can give her hell coming back.   I almost lost it on my 88 Yamaha coming up from a Rally in Southern Arkansas several years ago.  Sand in some of the curves and corners.

Must be close to July 4th, as my neighbors are setting off boom booms, Sound like they might be M-80's, back in the day that was what I shot off in California.

You are a good man Steve. I am proud to call you a friend. Know that you will be missed. Prayers for you and your son. I do hope you can make the tail end of the gathering. If you give up your room and end up coming later you are welcome to share our room. There will only be me and Chase in there and he is not very big. I don't think we would have any trouble tossing him on the floor.  Grin All kidding aside we would have no problem sharing a room with you. Come ahead without any worries.  cooldude

Sorry to hear you may not make it IZ. I really wish I was going and was hoping to hear stories from you when you got back while we had some bench racing. But take care of Austin- more important.  We'll have to do a "Wisconsin" VRCC ride ...right now, the heat factor is about the same here as it is in Arkansas.

Keep us posted on Austin.
