I can do my own paint, but how is the quality. I have a standard with a rear rack that I installed a givi clone on but would like something bigger/nicer.

so what do you think.

Looks pretty small. Does say fiberglass which is good. The one I bought for that price was ABS plastic
and didn't last 6 months. Cracked on every mounting point. I have a friend who has the Tsukayu trunk that is very strong but pricey. It is truly fiberglass. I have Tsukayu saddlebags and love them. For my trunk, I bought a trunk from a 83 Honda Goldwing on Ebay for $65. It was in perfect condition except for paint. I had it refinished for $50. Just an idea. Good luck with whatever you choose.

If you look at the fourth picture where the lid is being held open it appears to be the same size as the Tsukayu Trunk. In fact, it appears to be a direct knock-off of the Tsukayu. I owned a Tsukayu and it sure looks the same to me.

It is missing the carpet liner, the lid struts, and the latch is different (looks a lot cheaper).

I can't say if they are getting "stripped down" ones from Tsukayu and reselling them, or if they are copying the design and cutting corners for a lower price.

I do know the Tsukayu one is a great size and is of very good quality.

Read about mine here:

I have emailed that seller twice asking for dimensions.  I received zero responses.  That's a no-go for me.

Some sellers are not too email savvy, but the buyers are.
I emailed two prior buyers and asked them how they like it,
Here are the two responses:

"All in all,, I think it was well worth the money, nice and strong,, I still have to finish it and get it in the bike,,,, it will take some sanding,, had a lousy latch on the back,, I bought Harley replacements and put on it, had to fill holes,, no big deal, I don't think you'll ever find a factory trunk for less money!!
- rockingb68"

"Sturdy made. Metal hardware. have not mounted it yet but
actually I am putting this on a honda vtx. If you have hard saddlebags and
they open forward you may have clearence issues. If you would like
dimensions I can get them to you
- johnderosa1442"

Looks like the seller has a couple of molds that he pops out a few of these at a time, I am sure they are a copy of someone's design.

With that I put my $99+30shipping bid in, ends tonight. (don't bid against me please, there is another one for sale in two days)
I will try to find a new latch also, I will post pics and install details when I get it.

If anyone has a idea/link on a better latch, post a comment, I have a hard time thinking about putting anything "Harley" on my bike. I need to find something else.

The ad says it is an"exact replica' of the Interstate trunk.

It is not even close. The Vendor knows not of what he speaks!

I agree, its a copy of a Tsukayu Trunk, he also makes some sad looking Harley bags that I would not even consider.
I will find out.....

It's installed.
Here are the pics.
I received it gelcoated and primed? the hardware is a little sad but it works with a little tlc.

Yea both helmets fit.

Raw

seat back (this also had custom fiberglass inserts)

fibers inside, I just used a little palm sander

inside the top

mount point

Rattle can to the rescue, inside got white, outside got gloss black
carpet and blots

Rear and side views of the finished product

For about $130(trunk/bolts/paint/carpet) I am happy, its strong, it holds both of our helmets and I like it better then the fake givi I had before

Add the speaker pods and tail lights and I can see the resemblance to the Interstate Trunk.

For $130 I'm sure that both your wallet and passenger are happier.

I just added 2x$2 LED break lights strips along the bottom. Its like a 3+ft chain of LEDs when I hit the brake. Nice, thanks for the idea ptgb.
I will post pics and links when I get back from Inzane.
