Got one- no problems. If I forget to turn it off I have some protection. Looks like the price has gone up. Also purchased an vacuum hose adapter from redeye, and extended the pick up tube to equal the original in lenght to maintain my reserve. I also added a 10 micrcon filter. Hope this helps.

What is wrong with just using tht $111.70  6311-CRF , round finned, chrome, strait, no vac petcock and plug the vacuum on #6?  This is the first bike I have ever had that used a vacuum petcock, and I am used to turning the gas off when I shut of the ignition.  Not trying to be sarcastic or upsetting, this is an honest question of those who are far more in the know than I am.

The 6311 series has the nipple pointing to the side.  You need the 1311 series which has the nipple pointing forward.  Also it doesn't matter if you get round or hex, chrome or aluminum body cause it can't be seen.

I feel any vacuum petcock, whether stock or aftermarket, is destined to need service after a while.

The reason I say this is because of the diaphragm, which I consider the "weak link" in the system.

The continuously working of the diaphragm due to the fact that it is activated by the vacuum from a single cylinder has to eventually cause the material to degrade from all of the flexing.  A look at the vacuum gauge demonstrates this pulsation if you are doing a synchronization.

The best fix would be to create a vacuum canister connected to multiple vacuum sources and use this to operate the petcock. A steady vacuum would definitely contribute to a longer working life for the petcock.

You can certainly avoid all this by simply replacing the stocker with a manual unit or modifying the stocker as some have done.
