I just went through the same thing , save yourself a lot of time and headaches  , pull the bike apart clean the carbs , new jets , high and low , new pilot screws , new bowl gaskets , new petcock [ Pingel or Golan ], Dan Marc fuel shutoff ,inline filter and a desmog !!!!

I tried to to do it on the cheap and wasted a lot of time .

What additives did you try ?? And, how did you try them ??  It still sounds like the carburetors need to be cleaned,, they're probably pretty well varnished.. I just clean things,, some folks replace things..

Just bite the bullet and pull the carbs to clean .... friend of mine brought in a bank of carbs for a '72 750 Honda to a place that did ultrasonic cleaning for $50 .... looked like new and clean as a whistle.

You drained the gas but did you also drain the carburetors?

I'd not suggest removing the carburetors unless you are a competent and able mechanic.

The way I would try to fix the problem first is to get a gallon of fuel, put a can of B-12 in with it, mix it good and add it to your empty gas tank.

Then let the mixture fill all the carburetors. You can check this by letting a little mixture drain out of each carburetor.

Finally, I let it sit for up to a week like this without trying to start the bike.

I'd then drain the carbs again to get some more fresh mixture in them and let it sit again.

In the final step I'd drain all the mixture out and put a gallon or two of fresh gas in the tank and then start the motor.

If you have previously tried to start the motor, new plugs ought to be considered.
