OK, I'm trying to wire in a WigWag back off controller and between the packaging directions and searching the wiring diagram of the bike on the "rattlebars" site  I am now fully confused.  Don't want to start cutting wires to discover I did a "Oops!".

The bike:  three wires; green w. red stripe, green and brown w. white stripe turning to green w. yellow stripe, green and brown respectively.  I'm thinking brown is common and the green w. red stripe is the brake wire?

The wig wag says to route black to ground, is that the same as common or should I run a separate wire to ground?
On the wiring diagram I saw there is a brake light switch, is that like a cut out?  Do I need to locate that thing (where?) and wire the wigwag in before that or after, or can I splice the controller in in the trunk area?

At the bottom of this post is the RattleBars wiring diagram for the Valk IS for lighting.  It is what I'm referring to.  Blue text refers to wires on the RattleBars image, red text refers to wiring on your image.

See where it says "L Brake/Tail Light" and "R Brake/Tail Light"?  These are the wires you will be dealing with.  The "Green" one goes to ground.  The "Brown/white" one is for the tail light - you don't want to mess with it.  The "Green/red" one is the brake light signal, and it's what you want to use to connect to the "RED WIRE INPUT" listed in your diagram.  One of the "RED/WHITE WIRE" gets connected to one of the "Green/red" brake light wires on the bulb side, and the other to the other.  Don't cut the "Green" wire on the bike - just tap the "BLACK WIRE GROUND" into it from the wig-wag.

Depending on the size of the wig-wag, you probably have enough room inside the housing of the trunk (between the inner and outer shells) to make all the connections and secure the wig-wag unit, that way you're not trying to run extra wire from under the seat or side cover, or trying to fish them up from underneath the trunk.  This will also give you access to the wiring harness in the correct place.

The image is located on this page: http://www.rattlebars.com/valkfaq/schematics/rpage03i.html

Thank You kind Sir!!

I've got it hooked up and running.  Without your help I would have cut the wrong wire  uglystupid2  I'd insert a short video clip of the new and improved brake lights, but I have no idea how to do that.

Glad you got it figured out.  Wiring is a lot like plumbing where wires = pipes.  Follow the wire and you can figure out what it does.

For the video - have a youtube account?  If so, upload it there, and copy / paste the web address of the video page here and the forum will convert it when you post your comment.  I've been contemplating getting a wig-wag for my IS brake lights, along with some other rear-end lighting upgrades.  Which model are you running?

Signal Dynamics  http://signaldynamics.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=43&category_id=14&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=77]http://signaldynamics.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=43&category_id=14&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=77  I've opted to use the repeat flash pattern

I'm also running these in the tail lights http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/store/index.cgi?action=DispPage&Page2Disp=%2Fspecs%2F74-xHP3.html   They are hard to get in cause they are just a fraction wider then the glass bulb and they don't put out all that much  more light.

Still looking for a LED tail/brake light with a 360 degree beam pattern.  I've looked at the LED light bar at "Goldwing stuff" but at ten times the cost of the (almost) same bar on other sites I can't justify it.  Probably will add a LED light bar under the trunk at some time though.
