I've been putting of installing a Wig Wag Back Off module on my brake lights because I couldn't figure out how to get one screw out (see below).   It took some doing, but I got it off.  just figured I'd post this since I sure couldn't find any info on the topic.

- Remove the trunk lid.  2 screws for the cable braces and 6 hinges screw (the bottom ones)
- Remove the screws hidden under the trunk lid seal.
- Remove the screws from the lock, tow on the top edge and one below the hatch.  The one below the hatch is a booger, I wound up grinding the head off after trying heating, tapping, wax, grinding to accommodate a wrench and WD40.  I opted to bybass the C4 suggestion but I did consider it.
- Remove the 5 bolt covers in the bottom and the 6th one on the forward side of the trunk and pull the bolts (10mm).
- Remove the grommets in the the bolt holes.
- There are 6 small self tapping Phillips head screws on the bottom of the case, 4 of these are just in front of the antenna bar and the last 2 are further out and slightly back
- Remove the trunk pan.  The fenders for the cable braces stick out slightly outside the liner so they will catch the trunk edge when you try to pull it straight out.  there is enough flex to push one edge at a time in and pull the liner the rest of the way.

You can now pull the wiring out the bottom and remove the rest of the trunk or set the lower half of the trunk on the back seat.
I found that my trunk's drain hole was clogged, it would appear some piece of paper got stuck over it.
If you need to get to the tail light connections, they are 18ga wires with crimped connections.  There is some kind of tape over the connections.

The screw head I ground down is on the bottom edge just above the screw from the latch relaese.
