I may try these. I haven't found any yet that work well enough to let me do what I need to do. As a result, I end up with safety glasses on and then a set of cheaters in front of them. Yes, I know, quite a picture, but you do what you have to do.
It really sucks after having perfect eyesight my whole life, just the last few years things have changed.

Cycle Gear here in Matthews sells shades with bifocal in them. We have been using them at the plants for the last 10 years.

Lowes has them from time to time. Around $15 a pair.

I've been using bifocals for a few years. Like these: http://www.bikershades.com/product-p/sr23bfd.htmLets me see the instruments/gps clearly (when I look down), but doesn't affect distance vision.

I buy a similar product from a tool/safety house in Temp, AZ. They have different magnifiers and both clear and dark smoke for sun. Only $6.67 with tax so I keep multiple pairs on hand.

I wear varilux progressives to read and work, but only wear single distance vision to ride or drive, and I can still read the instruments and street signs fine. (I carry my progressives in the bag, in case I have to do any reading or close work while out on the road)
To me, using bifocals/trifocals when riding just means half the lens is unusable to see where I'm going.

I use these (Venture II safety glasses) for riding glasses. They wrap around for full protection.....plus they're readers so I can see my guages. Scroll down to get to the readers..... http://www.tasco-safety.com/sglasses/pyramex-venture2-safety-glasses.html
