The ONLY thing I do not care for about my Valkyrie is the puny sounding sissy horn, LOL So far, I've only used the horn a few times, and it is embarrassing Anybody got a suggestion for a good replacement? I mean really, a bad @ss bike such as the Valk should have a more beastly sounding horn

I have the Rivco Hidden Air Horns on mine. They were on it when I got the bike.
If I didn't have these, I would have gotten the Stebel Air Horns. Just make sure you use a relay so you don't fry your horn button and wiring.
Check Rattlebars site for information on adding a relay for the horns.

I had a Stebel Nautilus on my previous bike, and am installing one on the Valk this week. Definitely non-wimpy.

I installed a cheap $10 truck horn on mine 9 yrs ago. Still works fine and is invisibly mounted beneath the frame.

Big BF's quad set-up. Sounds like a 1956 Buick snuck up on you and gave you a blast!

I've got the Rivco dual air-horns. Mine aren't the hidden ones, but shiny chrome. Very loud, just ask the soccer mom in the minivan that tried to merge into my lane without looking ot see if it was occupied.

Stebel air horns. I had the Rivco's and the Stebels are louder (Checked with a DB meter.)
Never had a problem with the Stebel, just use a relay or you'll fry the switch.

Another +1 on the Stebel, louder than the Rivcos. Was in the gargage just happened to have ear plugs in and had the wife listen from the porch. Stepson touched em off to hear em in the garage before i could sa WAIT!! Atruly uneque (sp) sound in an enclosed space. Recomend you touch them off occaisionally reed or something seems to clog up and make a sick duck like noise if not used some.

That Wolo looks like a direct knockoff to the Stebel design. Has anyone compared the two head to head ? It seems the Stebel is rated a bit louder (139 db) than the Wolo (119 or so). I wonder if that's enough difference to notice in actual application.

+1 on stebel/wolo. One tip if you go with this horn is throw out the relay that comes with the horn and buy a good one instead.

If you look at Wolo, guess what it says on the side- made in Italy. They are made by stebel and relabeled. I looked at the Stebel site and the 139 db is at 4" and the 119 at 2 meters. There is the new chrome stebel compact tuner which is supposed to be 100% waterproof but it is 2-3 times the price of the Wolo Chrome bad boy. Here's the Wolo chrome on the bike.

I have a Harley Davidson horn on mine. I wanted something that looked good but didn't sound honda wimpy. Sportster horn kit. $90 back then. It sounds good, when it works. Other wise it sounds like a honking goose! I had to extend the wires and make a bracket but still looks good. Its the only thing that shakes on the bike....

I went with a Wolo BadBoy mounted under the frame. A friend of mine put the chrome one on his bike and the finished pealed also he had relay problems, so I added a diode across the coil it took care of the problem.

+ 1 for Big BF Quad Horns
My wife still talks about the van that tried to take my lane after a U-turn. I "politely" laid on the horns and the whole vehicle "jumped" back into the middle lane.
More funny was the sleeping passenger - feet on the dash, the whole works. If she'd had claws on instead of nails, they'd still be trying to figure out how to get her off the headliner.
Loud horns saved my life - more than once!
BF has a good operation and is well respected to boot!

I have the Rivco hidden horns on my Interstate. Dugh, why spend the extra money when you don"t get to see the chrome horns under the bike. Could save alot and get the same set-up with the air compressor and plastic horns hidden. Might try Big F's set up. Can hear mine anytime you wish, Livingston is not that far away.

I have the BigBF Quads currently.
I have had Rivco, kept getting bugs in them and wouldn't honk the 1st time.
Then it was a set of Wolo, same thing as Rivco's
Then just for sheet and grins I put a 1927 Chevrolet ah-oog-ah horn on without a resistor taking it back to 6 volt.
A quick tap on the horn and it got some attention. People were not used to that sound.
Looked at some TRAIN air horns, but couldn't figure out where to mount 4 of them little short tubes........
Since I'm a retired LEO I thought about a siren, but you need a permit to use them, and I figured some folks would frown on that......
So, I settled on the BigBF quad's. I have had some trouble keeping all 4 of them honking all the time. Something to do with corrosion...... LOL.. I also have a set of horns off of my 1968 GTO, again if I could figure out a place for them, they will wake up the dead...........

I mounted a set of car horns hidden under the swing arm of all of our bikes. Reasons for choosing the hidden car horns are: The sound, I didn't want any super loud blast that would startle the blue hairs we have so many of down here. The car horns are a familiar sound to them, slightly louder though since the are under the bike & not behind sheetmetal. Looks. I did not like the look of any of the chrome horns, especially the big trumpet looking ones, too "old fartish" for me. Disclaimer!!! Just my opinion, if you like 'em good for you! Taking the stock horn off the RH side of the Valk cleaned it up real nice, more "symmetric" w/o the stock horn & bracket. The INSTANT response when you hit the button. No air pump delay or wind-up, just sound exactly when you need it the most. I did have to relay it of course & some welding was required to make the mounting bracket. I have run the horns through many hellacious Florida thunderstorms & flooded them out more than once but after they dry off a bit they work great again. Loud horns have saved my bacon more than once!!!
