I just came back from denton racetrack.A kid on a hyabusa did 7.3 at 105.That is way faster than I could run.I was just curious compared to that if one of us on a valkyrie had a perfect run what might we do it in.I am thinking about 9.5 at 90.

I'm just guessing, but with the torque available in second gear, I'm thinkin high sevens, low eights.  Top speed I'd say 80-90.  Like to try it if I ever get a chance.  I'm basing this on eighth mile times on my six pac dodge back in the day,  my valkyrie is as fast as it was, at least in my memory.  The dodge ran in the 13's in the quarter at about 105.  Only one way to find out, I guess.  cooldude

Actually he shifted about 3 times, i dont think he ever reached 5th.It took him several runs because giving it full throttle in the first 2 gears was making his front end come up and lose traction.I will do it for fun, about 3 times.i dont want to mess my bike up, plus it has a driveshaft i wouldnt want to put too much stress on.

I think that's too much bike for me. 102 ft/lbs which is similar to our Valks, but, damn, 172 hp at the wheel?  That's, uh, ALOT!

Here are speeds in each gear, they are in that "Canadian" language though...anyone translate? ???

1st Gear : 135 Kph
2nd Gear :  185 Kph
3rd Gear :  230 Kph
4th Gear :  275 Kph
5th Gear :  305 Kph
6th Gear : ??? Kph

I think 55 mph is 88 kph, so he should be hitting roughly 110 mph at the top of 2nd gear. IF he can keep it hooked up. IF.

Son had a Busa said 85mph in first was at rpm limiter. I rode it twice and that was one too many. I sure was glad he sold it. Stange how getting engaged will turn a man head to diffent things.

Hell of a thing to be able to break or at least match any speed limit in the country with ONE gear.

6.43 seconds for me.  Of course, I'm cruising at 70mph at the start and finish.....

135 kmph= 84 mph
185 kmph= 115 mph
230 kmph= 143 mph
275 kmph= 171 mph
305 kmph= 189 mph
??? kmph= a whole hell of a lot.

That's this guy and the second fastest run of the night, the fastest run was 3.8 seconds

I think these guys would kick the 'busa to the curb

Chuck, if that IT thing ever goes away, you have a future in commercial photography. Great pics!

Thanks Mark, I'm working my way towards part time photographer for extra income, I have to keep the IT thing for insurance since I plan on keeping Mary and I like steady income.

I told you guys it was happening on 7/7

More bikes

A decent pan shot

It's very difficult to catch a moving vehicle and blur the background (pan), especially when they move this fast; but I really like this mistake.

There is another Super-bike race on July 21st, I plan on being there if anyone wants to come and watch the fun
