I don't know if you have ever ridden Hwy 170 from Study Butte, Texas to Presidio, Texas. It paralells the Rio grande just like NM 68, both very beautiful and scenic by-ways. I think you would find a very different contrast of scenery. Thanks for sharing your ride.

If you are riding  and it is a must that you keep your eyes on the road, you are riding too fast.

Good seeing a report from you.   Was thinking about NM the other day!!!  Not much riding going on here, too hot.  I did sneak out for a short run today, we had some rain showers that cooled things off.  It was nice getting wet on the bike for a few miles!!

see ya,

Nice to see you posting again. I was just asking about you too.

Nice ride, thanks for posting. We had been getting daily late afternoon/early evening downpours that you could almost set your watch by up my way.

So after we talked at the LV Ride-In, I have now collected some bike-camping gear so be careful where you camp, you just may run into me out there.

It's amazing how easy it is to slide into camping while riding, it just seems so natural.

Think we can do better than randomly meeting, just let me know. I'd still like to do AZ 191, but I think that should wait till it gets cooler.

I'm heading east later this week and I'm a little worried about the heat. We are going to stay in hotels just for the air conditioning. I'm used to the dry heat we have out here and where even the hottest days don't seem to bother me. However hot and humid, I'm not sure I'm ready for that. I'm planning on starting my ride very early each day and stopping around noon.

We are only a couple of tanks away, just empty your penny jar and head out.

I haven't ridden that area, almost did in the spring but work stopped me. It's on my list, roads that parallel rivers are always worth seeing.

Hey! Even better!! Us Az. folks have a, "Ric and Ron Green Chili Ride" that hasn't occurred for a year or so. Maybe I could stir up some interest at my end for a reprise of that ride! I really enjoy 191 and all it's twisties as do other Arizona riders. I'll look up what time of year we usually ride it as we have done spring and fall rides. Thinking we could meet in the middle and shoot up the road together. We have usually stayed at a motel in Springerville. That's starting the ride from the south in Three-Way. Let's see what happens.
