I need to switch sides with my floorboards because I have a very tiny wife that can't reach them properly.  I need to know how to get them off, ie, are the mounting surfaces sharp to prevent turning?  I can't get enough leverage with a box end wrench to turn the flangenut on yhe inside of the mounting brackets.  I did not install these.........the bike is new to me.  HELP!!!

Well, with no pictures and not knowing whether they were put on with locktite, I am guessing.  So, if their is no corrosion or locktite on the threads, you should be able to get them loose with some extra leverage on your box end.  I did mine with extra leverage.  If locktite or corrosion is present, then a little heat might be advisable.  Remove the brackets from the bike to do that.

My SO is short enough that the pegs are too low.  For best passenger comfort, their thigh should be parallel to the ground when seated with their feet on the pegs/boards.  I had to raise the passenger pegs 1 and 1/2 inch for my 5ft tall SO to be comfortable on long rides.

If after more effort you still can't get it out, Remove the plate they're bolted to. It's a pipe hanger so the pipe nuts come off and then 2 bolts to the frame. Then you can work on a bench. Good luck.

Thanks guys.  I think I'll do it as Sandy suggested.  The height of the boards is good, but she can't reach them & winds up using the back of the footboards like a hwy peg.  If I switch sides it will bring the boards about 5" further to the rear, which should be about right. If not, I will make new brackets that put them in perfect position.  Funny how simple solutions will escape me right after I get up   Embarrassed  .
