Hi fellow Valkyrie riders  cooldude I have a 1997 standard and I have been looking for some clean looking bolt on bags. I had the Saddlemen bags but the abs backs broke out of them last year. I can't afford the boss bags but don't want something that looks like it doesn't belong on the bike either. Any suggestions or ideas greatly appreciated. H-2

Check out the Heritage Leather bags from Canada; they look solid and  appear to be good quality, and cheaper than the Boss. Price includes all mounting hardware and free shipping........within Canada, at least.

I have myself a '97 standard - bought it new 12 years ago together with the OEM leather bags.

Have been very satisfied of these - they really keep their form very well, also thick leather.
I don't know if you can get them still, in each case a recommandation !

On the picture you see them and always found them nice. angel

I have the Tsukayu Strong (hard bags). They are not to expensive. I got them 2 yrs ago, and am happy.

I have a 97 Standard that came with the original 1997 Valkyrie leather bags (they are different than those in Flatsix's picture).  They were kind of mildewed and a bit yuckky and are currently stored in my garage.  I have no need for them.  I also have the metal brackets that attach to the seat stays and support the bags from behind.  I won't be able to send you pics until the weekend since I work out of town but if you are interested - I am open to offers for the package.

I have a pair of top quality leather bags from Leatherneck Jim.  They lock, and also come off of the bike with the turn of a key.  Thats nice when you are done riding for the day- just take the bags in with you!  Leatherneck Jim was easy to work with, and new exactly what my '97 standard needed.  no affiliation, etc.
