The Great Republic of Texas - Dallas

Scott James was cutting edge years ago when he was the first to jump to the couch (not crotch) bike from the Valk. Stan, Donald, two Steves, surely some closet Wingers and Blade have paved the way for our latest defector. In David's defense, Janet made him do it and I really don't see him parting w/ the Valk anytime soon.

Here is your chance. Hiding that Wing from us? You can come out now! ~Jeff

Hey Jeff, maybe you stumbled across a new moniker: Couch Rocket

We are NOT defecting.  As I have, Janet has truly enjoyed meeting and spending time with everyone here.  Thank you all for that.  She likes the riding part, too, and at some point I'm sure she'll take the BRC.  Until then, it's the GLazyBoy recliner for her.  The Rumblebee is permanent.  It just isn't the most comfortable for Janet.

This was a right place at the right time deal that was too good to pass up.  '07, with everything but the airbag, tons of chrome, and 732 miles.  I'm sure the previous owner has second thoughts as he traded it on a dresser HD and took a HUGE bath.

Hi, my name is Dave and I'm an F6 addict.  After all, there are Standard and Tourer Valks, Interstate and Super Valks, and Ultra Valks.

Good one, Jim.  I stayed coy for about as long as I could.

Did you say nimble?

There is a local club, DFW Freedom Riders that meet in Grapevine for rides and such. Most of them are Wingers. I have to admit, they can really get up and go, I was surprised!
Very nice people, and anyone can ride with them .( Of course, we had to ride drag!)

You can find their schedule @ www.dfwfreedomriders.com

the only problem with Wingers( most) is they use their real names and don't have "biker names" and were surprised by Redneck and Hollywood as our given names.
Otherwise, way cool!    Cheesy

Nice bike. Hope you got the surround sound with the video system. I have heard that if you run the DVD and the air conditioner at the same time, the cappucino maker takes longer to warm up.  I think there is a service bulletin on that, though.

Enjoy the comfort!

Hey, look again.  That Gold Wing HAS an airbag on it........  Grin

It's a good looking ride.  Ride safely and in comfort.  Heck of a deal.

If he's smart, like me, he'll keep the Valkyrie for riding solo, and ride the Wing with the very Significant Other with an otherwise sentistive toosh. Congratulations, son, and the only offense you've committed is purcahsing a blue bike, which is much, much slower than a black bike, which is why you'll always be sucking up the rear. And by the way VRCC'ers, I (we) prefer to particpate with the Valk Club not so much because of the bike, rather a finer group of folks not to found anywhere else.

And speaking of Stretch ... I propose we change his handle from "Stretch" to "Which Bike". All in favor ....

I agree.  After riding a HD, and riding with their group (locally) a couple of times I was not impressed.  Both dinner rides I went on there was at least one bike left on the side of the road (in the dark).  Not a person stopped to help. (I didn't because I didn't know a thing about riding or fixing the things.  I had only been riding about 2 weeks) The second night, 3 were left on the side of the road.  Decided I might as well be out there by myself, and never road with them again.

Then I met up with the Valkers.  What a contrast!!! Shocked  Not only do they stop to help other Valkers, they stop to offer assistance to other brands.  They have a website with a list of Volunteers all over the world to contact if they are out somewhere, and need help.  They help each other with wrenching, and have a good time together; plus the national and regional message boards, and chat room. and all at NO COST to the members.

IMHO, you cannot beat the bike, the VRCC people (individually) or the club.

Thanks for the tip, Hollywood.  I'll look them up.  Hope to meet and ride with you sometime.

Thanks, Laserpat.  Say hi to Texas Deb for us.  See you in less than 3 weeks.

Thanks, LemonDrop.  We were about 100 miles into the day yesterday when she realized we had just about reached her previous limit and she was able to keep going.

Sidecar, each time I've ridden it I've been surrounded by sound, although not nearly as much as on the Rumblebee.  It also came with an interactive, terrain-following video system with microphone input, dual hand and foot controls, and a hemispherical screen.  It's going to take some getting used-to though because there is much more stuff for my thumbs to do.  It even has some redundant systems.  For example, it's not blue-tooth, but there is a red-head nagivator on the back seat who's always telling me where to go.  Good idea about the DVD player.  Duct taped to my helmet or to my backrest?  Why haven't they put air conditioners on them?  That cappucino remark was a low blow. Wink

Thanks, Rainmaker, but it's windbag, not airbag.

Thanks, JC.  I like the solo / two-up plan.  After a year of riding in the middle or toward the back, I don't mind taking the lead or tailgunning now that I can communicate.  But remember, blue bike sounds a lot like blew by!  Regarding VRCCers, I believe an appreciation for the Valkyrie says a lot about a person.  Davey Likey.

Maybe the Hardley riders didn't stop because if the had to stop for every hardley that broke down they would never get anywhere.
