A quick search turned up this thread... http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,2179.0.htmlI seem to recall, that a skilled rider can make low 12's, on a stock bike. Black Dog

I remember an article written on the Valk from motorcyclist or Cruiser magazine. Not sure which one. The time they posted was 12.02 if I recall. Fast enough to beat any stock Harley and some modified ones as well. If I recall the only Harley at the time that can come close to beating a Valkyrie is a V-Rod. They both ran low 12s. It would come down to riders skill. But the the V-Rod is not a "real" Harley. Just ask the die-hards.

with my movie camera when you run a 12 in your Valk.
Do it while you still have the cooper on the back though, it will keep the back wheel from spinnin in 3rd gear

I do not remember her time, but I do recall Vicki Duffy (TNT) whipped all the boys at the drag strip at InZane 1 or 2. I think she may have beaten a blown Valk as well. She did this withoput any experience at the drag strip. They had to explain the lights to her, She left late often, but finished first always. Hence he plate reads "BYE BOYS"

I met a gy at the local HD dealer a few months ago. Boasted a 14.2 quarter on a 103 squawking chicken. It had pipes and a power commander.

Stock or mods? If modded, what? I know a well tuned Valk will hold it's own at the 1/4 mile.

I did a 12.30 at 103. ( I also have done a few 13+ & 14s ) '97 std with about 10-15k miles on it at the time. I seem to remember a bike magazine's test rider doing a 12.12 @ 105 when the bike first came out.

before I installed the blower, before any engine work, I ran a 12.78 at 101 mph on my 01 standard. after engine buildup with rejetted cabs and 6x6 exhaust, 11.58 @117mph after blower, before fat tire kit 10.28@127 mph after fat tire kit, new carb and minor blower mods 3.997 at 101.36 mph in the 1/8th mile. couldnt run the whole 1/4 mile cuz of tire bounce in the rear. light on dyna beads. I do beleive that because I am using a conventional carbs(mikuni), it will fall on its face(as all mikuni power carbs do) the last half of the track putting me in the mid 9's somewhere. Ive dont this many times with other bike and same carbs, they just run outa fuel in the bottom end. ill try it next time with a 50mm lectron and see if it will run in the 8's wo0t!!

bone stock 98 tourer with 50,000, first pass out of the box 13.79, my 60' was a 1.98. I could make a few more passes and get my 60' down and I bet it would go 12's. Went across the scales and was 1150 lbs. Fat man on a fat motorcycle creates a handicap.

Dogg, was that a typo on your time for the 1/8? My son did own a 98zx6r built for drag racing that had nitros and has the best 1/8 mile time at the local track at 5 flat. Just wandering. found this for drag times. may not be the best indicator but has lots of times for lots of vehicles. Even found a time for a Yugo http://www.dragtimes.com/browse.php

it is correct. I had a perfect lite, short time was 1.16 (i think, gotta dig ou tthe ticket) and when I went thru the 1/8th mile beam, I was in 3rd gear at about 7000 rpm.maybe 7200, I was getting ready to hit 4th but, I blew thru it so i got out of it.
The sucky part is, and cv will run outa gas on the bottom end. so, bike runs slower and hotter on the bottom end. With a lectron carb, I coulda run better in the last 1/8th but could not have done any better on the front 1/8.
I raced suzuki 8 valves for years. fastest one ran 8.0's all day. did have a 7 second 2 stroke for a bit. sold it to a guy from england. he took it home with him:D
1260cc 3 cyl, 2 stroke pro mod H-2 bike wieghed 258 lbs. rider wieghed 120 lbs. 7.996 @ 197.936mph. I refused to ride it:D

That's pretty swift, 3.997 in the 1/8th. What are you running now?

Yea usually a 135mph 1/8th time is like 5 seconds... I took my blown valk (with my lard arse on it)to the track tonight. I got about 94 on the 1/8th at 7.660 seconds as my best run. Admittedly, ive a bit to learn about launching it better. However, I beat a Honda 919 tonight and hung on to some liter bikes Had I weighed 170lbs instead of 270, im sure I could have taken at least one more sport bike. Only one other cruiser running. It was a Harley. I recall 73mph on his runs.
