Removing hard bags...
«

Hi folks, after a wreck that smashed both bags I'm going to remove my hard bags until I find suitable replacemnt Honda ones. I'm wondering if there are any "gotcha's" associated with replacing the bolts without the bag mounts in place, with length etc. Also, anyone selling a set of black hard bags?? My locks are fine and transferable. TIA!

Go to Ace hardware and get spacers to replace the thickness of the brackets. When the bolts go in too far, the nut cage could bend or break off.

The only real GOTCHA is the sticker price on the OEM bags.

remove crossbar, remove lower bolt, loosen upper bolts, remove only one upper bolt ,swing mount, reinstall bolt, then remove the second upper bolt. it's a serious pain in the butt if you remove both bolts at the same time!

thanks for the guidance folks! Don't wanna bend things or nut cages. One at a time rings good too
Someone on here, I think, had a set of black in good condition to sell, but I can't find the post or message

For an ACE T with mounting hardware. RH bag crushed, but you should be able to repair.
