I think the animal kingdom has it out for me. Last week on the way to work in the rain and before daylight I hit a dog with the valk. It had been hit by a truck just ahead of me. No time or desire to react just grab the bars and bounced over it and the Lord kept me up and running straight. It shook me up some but not too much. Well this morning on the way home at 4am on the same road in an area that I've never seen wildlife in an alligator about 4-5 ft long was half way across my lane. I always hug the centerline so I missed it but it scared the sh3t out of me. I figured if I went down it might eat me. I've driven this road for over 29 year to and from work and have never seen a gator on it so you can image me surprise. Keep you eyes open there ot to get us, or at least me. cooldude

Yep, plenty of gators down that way.  My sister lives near Mont Belvieu and there used to be a gator farm just down the road from her place.  Now there is one living in the stock tank (pond) at the back of her property.

Glad you're OK Mr. B...crazy experience

I grew up in Southeast Arkansas. (Close to Arkansas Post) By the end of my high school days gators were starting to move in. You'd hear rumors of one in somebody's irrigation canal and we'd all run out to see of we could get a look. Biggest one I saw back in them days was about 2 ft.
There was a record 13 + foot gator taken at Arkansas post just a couple of years ago, and you can see several on the water any time you go there now. You can no longer allow pets or kids to play at the water's edge.
They're not native to the area. They're not natural there. I say get rid of every damn last one of them. But let a game warden catch you killing one.

Plenty of 'em around here.  One used to live near a buddy's apartment, until he started wandering past the bus stop around the time the kids got home from school.
Sheriff's office took him out quickly after that.

I can't imagine that his ribbed back would have been good on your tires.  Glad you missed him.
