I just yesterday discovered that my tail light does not light up when front brake is pressed. It is linked only to rear brake. Is it a glaring fault with my Valk alone or is it how it is with you all as well?

I had the same problem. I replaced the brake light switch that is attached to front brake lever on the handle bar. Very easy fix. Most likely, this is your problem.

Before replacing: Remove the switch and find the small hole in the housing. Spray some contact cleaner in it and work the switch numerous times. That usually fixes it. I also follow up with a shot of Tef-Lube spray to keep moisture out.

Well, the tail light really shouldn't come on with either brake switch.. The tail light and brake light are 2 different lights.. So, if the tail light comes on with either brake switch being activated there is probably a ground problem somewhere..

If we are really talking about the brake light then there probably is a dirty / defective switch issue.. When you work the brake lever you should be able to hear the switch.. If you can't then it probably needs cleaning.. If you can hear the switch and the light works with the foot lever then you probably still have a dirty lever switch or a defective switch..

+1  cooldude  Had the same issue with my clutch switch recently, and a quick remove and clean was all she needed. I used a small piece of 1000 grit to burnish the contacts a little through the hole, worked great.

Thank you folks. It was my bad, I actually meant brake light.

Now, when you are talking of brake switch cleaning, is it a part of the switch assembly which houses the engine cut off switch? Would WD40 work?

it mounts on the bottom of the housing, walk out there and look. wd-40 is conductive and can short out electrical components.

This was probably easier than using a microwave! Took the housing out and a little brush with Goo Gone did the trick.

Thank you all.
