What's the max weight any of you have ever put in your trailers?  Also what was the tongue weight when doing so?

I've carried maybe 100-150 lbs max. I try to keep the tongue weight to 15-20 lbs. Most of the time though when just riding instate it's probably more like 50-75lbs. Really enjoy the extra capacity when going on 2-3 day rides. I have a small hand scale with a hook to lift the tongue with to see actual weight. Most times can tell just by lifting by hand.

I could guess that I have hauled 200+ pounds in the trailer. When we went out west in 2009, I was loaded up pretty heavy. Never had a problem, it pulled great.

Tongue weight should always be about 10%-15% of the cargo weight. Just make sure to load the heavier stuff over the trailer axle and you shouldn't have a problem.

When we go on our week long trips we usually have about 150-200lbs and the tong weight is about the same as the other guys, about 20lbs.  I have never had any problems in the 15k miles we have done pulling a trailer.  The only thing you have to do is give yourself more stopping distance, other than that, I never feel the trailer.

If you pull a pop up camping trailer, you will be in the 4-500# range.

Keep in mind one more important factor.....your gas mileage may suffer. On flat ground I don't see a huge difference when pulling but add a head wind or mountains and look for gas stops frequently.  Cheesy

If you find it starting to fishtail a bit, increase the weight in front of the trailer a bit.  If you've got it too balanced, or tail-heavy, that can cause the fishtail.

I've pulled a Roll-a-Home tent trailer over 8,000 miles behind the Valk. It weighs over 400 lbs loaded. It's too much weight for a Valk. I now use my Wing with no problems. Keep you total weight to 300 lbs and you'll be fine. Two prblems  were braking and fuel  MPGs. About 25 MPGs at 65 MPH.o

I've hauled my Kwik Kamp all around the country at 450-500 lbs and 90 lbs tongue weight. Really was no problem except for the gas mileage. One day on I10 in New Mexico at 80 MPH with a 20 MPH headwind I got 18 MPG.

I've got 21LB tounge weight empty,  My tongue is extended as it should be.  I took out everything and weighed about 165 Lbs all heavy stuff in the packed in the back.  50 Lbs tongue weight without the ice chest full.

I wonder why the new 1832cc goldwing would pull much more, if any, than say a 1520cc Valk I/S?  I am sure fuel injection and 312cc's help, but you would think either one would be fine.  Is the new Goldwing suspension that much better than say the stock Valk I/S?

I've always wondered what the maximum pull weight would be and seems like most are saying 400-500lbs. tops.  Heck, with me being 275 and the misses around 200 with gear being another 50lbs. or so, right there is over 500lbs. easily.  Only thing I notice 2-up is the stopping distance is longer, off the line jackrabbit starts are slower, but cruising along at 60 mph not much difference at all.
