Purolator filter # L 14610, according to Walmarts book, it fits the Valkyrie and it does.  However, it's about an inch longer than the OEM and the old Supertech #6607 which I've been using for years.  Anyone know the number for a slightly shorter Purolator?  I need one a little shorter so that it will fit in my "Cobra" cover.
TIA

I've been told that the Purolator L14612 is a shorter filter, hopefully it's only 2.5" long as that is what the old Supertech's were.  The L14610 is 3 3'/8's" long.  Will verify and  exchange (?)tomorrow and will let you know.

PS: At Walmart, the Purolator is $3.49+ and the Fram is $6.49+.

Thanx

Wallmart doesnt carry the better Pureolator filter which is PL14612 and PL14610 long, but K-MART does for about 6 bucks. Just went and got 2 of the PL14610 after work, they also had a clearance on Mobil 1 15w50 for 4 bucks each, bought the last 8 quarts they had.

The Walmart here (Pensacola) had the L14610@ $3.49.  I bought two of them a couple of hours ago.  Wasn't looking for the L14612 at the time, but will go check it out tomorrow!

7/20 @ 8:30AM FOLLOW-UP---I just exchanged the L14610 (3 3/8" long) for L14612's , which turn out to be 3" long, which is 1/2" longer than the Supertch 6607.  They WILL work with "Cobra" oil filter cover.  It's close, but the cover can still be properly secured.  Filter cost was actually $3.27 plus tax each.

Some old news.
As WalMart no longer has their branded filters here they are. Made by Champion as they always were to begin with.

Same filter in both sizes at the same old price.
So no need to use a more expensive Purolator, although I have and there is nothing wrong with using any of their products.

Both sizes are at Summit Racing
