This is what is left of my chrome dip stick. The "stick" part came off and fell into the motor. I was lucky, I managed to grab it with a magnet and pulled it out. Not really sure what it was rubbing on. Good thing I check my oil all the time even though the bike never needs oil added. cooldude
The stick part did not break in half, almost but not quit.

Hmmm.  I have the same one and it sure doesn't have a narrowed portion like that.  Did you notice anything at all before?  Was it narrowed there for a while?  I'm going out to check mine.

That is where it was rubbing on something inside the motor. It is a Show Chrome brand dip stick. I did not notice any noise. It was time to change the oil and after I changed it I checked it and that is what I found. It looks like it just came out from where it was factory pressed in.

I am in no way putting down the show chrome dip stick. It has been a great add on. This is the second bike that it has been used on. I think it is about ten years old maybe a little older.
Just wanted to show what happened. cooldude
