Like thE bike night in my home tow. Three hundred V twins, over half of them Harleys, all pretty much the same. Loud pipes, look at me, my d**k is bigger than yours, I rode all the way out here from the next town south, aren't my tats cool. Who's trailer are we using to get down to Daytona? Gotta love 'em. I love it how they all walk the line, checkin' the bikes, and almost all stop and look at the Valk probably five times longer than the clones. Took my cb550 cafe bike up there, this 16 year old skater type comes by and tells, in the midst of all this V twin testosterone, man, that is by far the coolest bike here.

Funny you have that picture....I met a couple of guys at a local rally (Thunder in the Cascades) a while back that we'll call "Tweedle Dee" and "Tweedle Dumb". These 2 are brothers, and they work for an alcohol distributing company or somesuch, and as such, and quite a bit of Jaeger merchandise to give away at said rally, which got really interesting when it came to "Let me stamp your boob with this Jaeger stamp" and other such stuff, but I'm drifting. They were inseparable, so much so that they bought sequential VIN HD motorcycles, identical except for the wheels (one had cast one had lace), with sequential license plate numbers on them! Neither one of them could ride worth a $hit though - only went on one ride with them, and that was enough.

The only way that story could be any better was if the dinner was on the house.

Thats funny. So many people want to be with the "in" crowd. Harley has given them that. Even with the dealerships open sometimes 6 days a week, some even 7 days, just to give the convenience of shopping for that "in" bike whenever the customer has time. I don't diss on the Harleys as much as I used to. Its IF you ride, not WHAT you ride. Now the new kid is the Victory. Opinions vary on this one. But the V twin is still there. Yeah, its 1800 cc, heated seats, grips, cruise, ect. IMHO, the dressers are butt ugly, especially from the back. I am seeing a lot more on the road, both plain and full dressers. My wife went to Houston to a friends place, where the friends hubby has a dresser HD and now bought a Victory. I haven't seen it but she says it has the leather bags and apparently now backrest, which she complained about. Since I have an I/S, she will ride with me every so often. She loves the ride, the comfort, the back support. Heck, she even fell asleep riding with me one time. HDs are nice, so are the Victorys, but I have worked my a$$ of for 7 years to get a house with a garage and a Valkyrie. Surprise the Valk came first, but now my baby can be inside of a garage now instead of under a bike cover outside. I know a few of you out there have either and HD, or even a Victory. I will still ride with anyone, no matter what they have. BUT, nobody will ever talk me out of my Valkyrie I/S. Opinions vary though. Walt

Ya know though...I was just at a hotel in Arkansas...and there were hundreds of the same bike in the parking lot all week... While that may be true, if you looked close, there was only one 02 Standard there that was black with a red "skunk" stripe. It was mine. I know, I looked very closely, every night. There were also some very unique characteristics that differentiated the individual bikes. Sorry I didn't get a chance to meet you there but, it wasn't cause I wasn't trying. I tried to meet every person I could. I did fall for one particular trike I saw there but dang it, the lady riding it would not leave it parked anywhere it couldn't be seen.
