Ok, so we needed a couple things for dinner from the store.  Im thinking, been cooped up all day inside, might as well take a Valkyrie ride to the grocery store.

As soon as I roll the girl out the doors, it starts lightly raining.  I can see the small cloud and I can see the direction its moving so I figure what the heck, cant be that bad.  Have some faith, and even if you get a sprinkle....so what

So I decide to head to grocery store further north because the storm is moving toward the center of town......

Im taking the long way around the west to the north end of town, staying dry but the storm is building

Lightening and thunder now off to my 3 o-clock by maybe a mile but I make it to the northern most store.  Also there is a roof that motorcycles routinely park under at this particular place so it seems the safe bet

Darker and darker and lightening and thunder is louder as I shop but its still going east and just maybe a block away from the store.

So I head out north and west and then curve back to the south well west of the storm........Now its huge!  and less than a half mile away at my 9 0-clock

I get all the way to my housing area and the bottom falls out.  Im now in a down pour, gully washer as we say round here...but Im on a 20mph street one block from my house.

Open the double french doors and the rain is aiming right into the family room.....there is a puddle under the bike by the time I get her in...park the bike, wipe off the huge drops of rain, and all it was, was a free wash....no dirt no road grime....the bike is cleaner than when I headed out and I didnt have to wash it.....just dry it.

I love storm surfing when it ends well

The title of this story should be........... Sliding Into Home.

Literally

The only way I could get my bike into my house would be up a ramp and thru the picture window.

Got out for my first ride in three weeks, starting at a wonderful 70 degrees.  The only bad part was discovery of a nail or some shrapnel in the rear tire, halfway thru the ride.  It looked like it had been in there for some time (no Rideon).  It wasn't leaking so I left it in.  Tire needs replaced anyway.   GATT at 36K or so.

I don't know whats better. The fact that you had a nice rain ride or that you have a Valk instead of a coffee table.
