Kansas VRCC State Rep., Formerly known as EngEmt

North Newton, Kansas

« on: July 28, 2012, 01:39:55 PM »

I have accepted the Kansas Representative's job from Valkhound, Dana McCoy.  Shocked Joe Studebaker had expressed interest as well, but with everything he has going right now, declined it at this time. We, Joe and I, have discussed maybe changing this to a term limit type position to let everyone have a shot at it and keep fresh blood and ideas flowing. For now I will do it unless there is some opposition to it.  tickedoff I have a lot of ideas, but I want your ideas as well. This will not be a dictatorship, well at least to start.  2funny

My first order of business  Roll Eyes is I would like to get a contact list together of the Kansas Riders. I am looking for names, handles, addresses, phone numbers, email, etc. I will make a contact list and send it to those on the list only, in other words if I don't have your info I'm not giving you anyone elses. That sounds bad doesn't, hopefully you understand what I am doing here. Please be respectful of everyones privacy and don't give out anyones info unless you have thier permission. Also if you have a cycle trailer, shop, etc. in case someone travelling needs help and your willing to assist if you can, make a note of that as well.  Send this to jdwhistler@hotmail.com please.

Another thing I want to try and get established is a monthly meeting. You can ride to it, drive your mini van, or walk in. This is just an opportunity to get together socially and catchup, plan some rides, maybe work on some projects, or something. It will never be mandatory to attend, if you can great, if you can't try next time. I am putting up a poll thread for this and will have it up for a week, so be sure to vote, majority rules!

I will stop there for now. I have been thinking about this for sometime so I have lots of things to throw at ya, but I think this is enough to get started with. If you don't have my cell number email me I will get it to you.

I don't think I have said it yet, but Congratulations on becoming State Rep! I think you have done a great job keeping things organized and keeping us informed.

You have Kerri and I's info, and know that we will help whomever, whenever, however if we are able.

Realizing, I don't live in KS anymore, I do read this state's board very frequently and quite frankly wish I could get Kentucky riders to ride together as much as the Kansas riders do.  Regardless, while I'm not in KS anymore, I am a frequent visitor.  I always try to find time to stop and BS with Dana.

Although I am not local, should anyone need a hand anywhere near Central KY.  I'm weak on knowledge but, I've got a fairly well equipped shop, air tools, a two post lift, a bike air/hydraulic lift table, a bike jack, a couple of trailers and a willingness to assist if called upon.

I've also been drafted as a State Rep. for VRCC.  Funny how that happens.  Wink  Trying to get similar things done here.  I just don't have such a willing group.  Ride On!!

Ron your welcome anytime. All we have done is try and post when we are riding. Whether it is just a couple of us or a large group. Anyone that can make it is welcome. When we run into fellow Valkyrie riders we invite them to join us. We have such a great diverse group with all kinds of schedules, so it works! We also post reports about our rides or get togethers and when others see what fun we are having they give it a try as well.  We aren't perfect we have our dust ups, but we all love riding, we help each other out when needed, and we have become a big dysfunctional family! I wouldn't trade any of my Kansas Brothers and Sisters for anyone else, thier all special in thier own way! And above all we have FUN!

the nicest thing about this group is the members. They invite everyone and are good to everyone!  More than welcome to ride with us, or if you are coming through, I always have extra room.
