Search was not my friend on this one. After looking through prior posts I am even more confused.

I have a 1999 Interstate with chrome wheels. I am redoing a 2001 Standard into a chromed out show bike. I want to swap the wheels on the bikes.

Do I simply swap wheels (I know the front wheels match) between my Valks or do I have to change the rear brake rotors to keep the I/S rotor with the I/S and vice versa?

Thanks.

Check the rear rotor bolts. If they look the same, just swap away. If they look different, then you can sawp the wheel/rotor together. It's possible the brake caliper with bracket have to be swapped too.

Any Valkyrie rear wheel will fit on any Valkyrie if it has ITS PROPER disk.

Where you get into trouble is changing out the rotors.  A '97 bike will accept a 2003 rear wheel if it has the 2003 rotor disk and vise verse

you can check the wheel by casting number, inside the hub on the rotor side there will either be the code j1 or j2

Like Chris said: just keep the wheel and rotor together and you have no problems.
