Valkyrie 2000 Pipes

The OEM pipes I have are in terrific condition, but I would like to get a quieter sound. The piggies/baffles (why are they called "piggies"?) at the end (I don't really know how many sets there are per pipe) are removed and when I am on cruise the noise is more than I want. I hear other riders refer to it as a "drone". I do not want to build my own piggies/baffles. Other than buying/trading for OEM pipes with everything still in place, is there any baffle product that can be put in? I sure would like to get to a Goldwing quiet. Your thoughts and ideas are welcomed. Thanks, Warren

The drone is caused by the piggies not extending to the end of the pipes. Contact Mark Tobias either by private message or at his website Horseapple Ranch. He is a vendor here, he customizes exhaust pipes.
He can sell you what's called a piggy plate. They are not too expensive.
There was a posting here a short while ago about attaching the piggy plates, use the search function to find it, it included pictures if I recall correctly.
This will eliminate the drone. Your pipes may still be a bit louder than stock if the rear baffles were drilled. Drilling the rear baffles is often the purpose of cutting the piggies. They are not straight and so must be cut off to allow a drill bit to reach the baffles.
I hope this helps.
