If this is not overturned, it's just be a matter of time until it applies to appartment complexes, public housing and perhapes even Home Owner Associations.... what next?  Angry

I did not do further research, but it seems to only limit OPEN CARRY in common areas.

The housing authority's policy of prohibiting residents from openly carrying firearms in "common areas" of public housing buildings is reasonable .

So carry concealed.

After reading the article, this seems more an issue of property owner's rights.  In this case the Housing Authority aka public housing changed their rules after the blanket prohibition against gun possession in homes was ruled unconstitutional.  The Public Housing Authority made it against the rules to have firearms in the common areas.  Apartment complexes could do the same thing.  After all, it is their property.  I don't believe homeowner's associations could do that as the common areas are actually public areas, i.e. the roads and right of ways, and they would be covered by state statutes and local ordinances.

As most know, ya' don't get much more pro 2nd amendment than me, but in this case... If you're taking a handout from the government (I.E. Living on MY dime) then I have NO problem with some strings being attached...

I think the strings should be different than the ones being discussed in this article (I.E. If in public housing, regular drug testing, get kicked out for any crime above a traffic ticket, etc) but in general... I don't have a major issue with this.
