I'm getting ready to hook up a trailer converter to my 99 IS. It had one on it when I got it last year, but the inputs to the converter were
done with taps, and I had to clean all that out and repair some wires to get all the rear lights working again.

I'm going to order a bullet triple connector to replace the single female bullet connector for the run/brake/turn signal lights. That way I
can just plug in any extra outputs I need for the trailer (and some additional rear lighting I have planned for later).

I believe that I read here somewhere that the bullet connectors were
3.5 mm. Can anyone confirm this?

Just go to the auto parts store. Advance or O'reily"s have a good selection of connectors, even the plug you are looking for.

Those bullet connectors won't work for a bike - the auto ones are 4 mm and the bike ones are 3.5 mm.  Vintage connections is the place you're thinking of.

Yes, our bikes are 3.5mm. If you cut the wire and add in multiple connectors, so you can plug in your trailer wiring anytime you want, then it doesn't really matter.

But I like things stock. I would go to vintage connectors . com and buy the multi pin connector that you need to add a male/female jumper in, and attach any connectors you want.

Here's another thing to consider:  The IS doesn't use the bullet connectors for the rear tail/brake lights.  It uses a 3p mini white connector.  The rear turn signals still use bullet connectors though.

Shist!! Thanks Jer. Have not looked at it in a while.

I guess I'll just have to cut into the wires and insert the triple connecter
and bullets midstream between the white plug and trunk for the run and brake. That way
everything will come out if I have to remove the trunk. Not too worried
about the load as all the trailer lights are LED.

Will try to get pictures and post.

As a side note, I ordered from Vintage last night and they sent it out today.

Also sent me a rebate of $3.19 on the $5 shipping.

I'm already really liking this outfit!!

Why not get a male 3pin and female 3pin from VC and make a pigtail so that you're not cutting into anything?

Now that you mention it, I would probably do it that way, but I already
ordered form Vintage. It won't be as clean, but I'll still be able to remove
the trunk, etc. without having to cut anything.
