After no joy with my fingers i went after it with long needle nose pliers bent at an approx 60 degree angle. And the plug is off and i'll purchase my new headlight bulbs tommorrow. RIDE SAFE.

I feel for you. Mine were a BIT.. also.
Replaced them with Silver stars.
Use some electrical grease when replacing them.

Take the fairing off.  It's really no big deal and will make changing those bulbs a piece of cake.   Wink

No need to remove the fairing!

Remove the windshield and the fairing rotates forward revealing the insides of the fairing.

Replace the bulbs with off-road 80/100 H4's, you'll like them. (just make sure the dims are aimed correctly, and you'll never get flashed) (no touchy the glass)

None of my auto parts stores had them, so I used Amazon.

Turn the handle bars one direction to allow access to one head light bulb, from behind the speaker panel.

Then get someone with small skinny hands to remove and replace it for you. I had my sister do it.

Used a regular auto light bulb, with the removal of the lower 2 tabs. Did not have a problem with the aiming.

Two good things came from this. Was able to accsess headlight bulbs mucho easier.  Wink Found out my fairing was actually quite loose.  Undecided After bulb install the fairing is now snug on all four bolts.  coolsmiley So Ricky-D thanks fer the maint tip.  cooldude Soon as it gets dark here want to check and see if anything needs a readjustment.  Cool Also raised my handle bars some. Feels good sitting static but that's what test rides are for.  cooldude RIDE SAFE.

Those 100/80 bulbs i got from N A P A are doing the job RIGHT in the dark. The low beam pattern is nice as are the high beams. Right at $10.00 each and i really like what i'm seeing with them. Just cut off the lower 2 tabs and yer good to go. No readjustment needed at all. Thanks to everyone that offered sugessitions tips and encouragement. This board really do rock.  cooldude RIDE SAFE.
