I am thinking of selling my 2000 Valkyrie Standard after I have spent over 6k in accessories :'(.  It has been a great bike and never failed.  Interested in something new.  I was offered 6k on trade in against a new BMW, but I think I can do better by selling it myself.  I still havent made up my mind, it's a tough decision since she has been so good to me.  The list of accessories is too large to put here.  I will just attach a picture.  Guess if I am still undecided, I should wait.....

I'm still running the Fats windshield which you sold to me several years ago. Did it come off that bike?

Yes, this was the bike.  I replaced the fats windshield with the honda line.  Selling this bike is a gruelling decision to make.  I am going to test out a goldwing and an ST1300 to see how I like those.  I think I just want something new, a new toy I guess....Hope you are enjoying the windshield......

John neither of those bikes have the soul and the character of your Valkyrie. Seriously as nice as they are technically, they aren't in the same league with your sweet Valky. What I would do if I were you is make some small change in what you have.. just to make her seem new to you, and that will keep you interested. (same thing marriage counselors say.. LOL!!)

I'll tell you what I did, ...I put on a set of Champion hardbags to replace the tired Honda leather ones, and eventually swapped out the 2Bros 6-into-6 for a nice set of MarkTs.. now I can't bear to sell her.

(of course I still went out and bought an Electraglide, just for kicks. But if you ask me what my main ride is, ...I point at the FatLady)

Indeed I am. Since then I've gotten two more in different heights/widths, a Bob Dron R/K fairing and an M-S Batwing. All use the Fats mounts - even the Batwing; I modified a spare set of Fats mounts to accommodate it. I didn't feel like spending $650 for 5 sets of Trigger-Loks!  Shocked

In addition, I have a set of modified Harley FLH wind deflectors which use Fats mounting clamps - there are a total of 4 sets installed on the forks. The whole affair is modular; I can mix and match components rather quickly and adjust airflow to suit the day's conditions.

Money may not be any concern for you but I would slap some hard bags on it along with a blower and spend the rest on gas and tires. I'm sure you would think you had a new bike!

I love these bags.  They are Boss bags with studs, conchos and piggy backs.  They snap on and off the bike easily, and will lock on for security.  The tail bag is made my Bossbags as well, and holds a lot more that it looks.....

Wasn't knockin' your bags just supposing a change in look for a "new" kind of feel. Without a doubt you have a very blinged out ride already.

Apparently so. HDL no longer lists them, and Lamonster's website is now a "place holder".

IIRC, Bill Bushling (the Magnacharger guy) was having some health issues and that may have contributed to the shortage of parts for the Lamonster kit.

Perhaps Lamont will pop in here and give us an update. I for one would like to get ahold of a kit or two.

JohnHunter4...I was doing the same thing today, bike shopping. Went in to look at the Nomad 1700, I like the adjustable shield instead of having several different height windshields. Like the belt drive and other improvements, but it's still just another V-twin. I couldn't get that jazzed up about it.
There was a small crowd growing outside around my Valk. several of the young sales-boys didn't even know what it was! Are we and our bikes that old?
Then I straddled the Kawasaki Concours 14, WOW. I never thought this type of bike was for me, It really impressed me!  I can't begin to tell all of the great engineering that went into this machine. It will be my next bike  cooldude Just not today.

Would you consider selling that trunk bag?  If so, I've got first dibs.   cooldude

I know what u mean, Tundra, I've looked at the Connie as well, but heard it produces a lot of engine heat, but is really fast and agile.  For some reason, the BMW R1200RT in the Blue is the one that is turning my crank........Real cruise control, ABS linked brakes, heated grips and seat, electric windscreen, computer controlled whatchamacallits, and all the bells and whistles.
