From what I read, the hydro edge has very stiff sidewalls and makes for a hard ride. Should be great in the rain, though.

It also has a very hard rubber compound.  Its UTQG score is 800.  More info from TireRack about UTQG.  

Goodyear Assurance Triple Tred All-Season 205/60-16 scores 640
General Altimax in the same size scores 440

  I am on my second one, 38k on the first with about half the thread left. I replaced it because they stopped making them and I take a 15+ k trip every year ( I am currently in Holland lake Montana now, I hope you that live in Montana realize what you have!) and wanted a new tire. I really like the Hydroedge (although it is the only Dark side tire I have tried) If you get one check the DOT date to make sure it is not an old one.
