I would worry about this thing going off at the wrong moment.  Would have to learn more about it, the triggering event, etc.  But for those who are determined not to wear a traditional helmet, this appears to be a good idea.  It can't be any worse than going without any protection at all.

As for me, I like the traditional helmet as I have been saved twice from serious harm by wearing one so I'm not a candidate for such a device. 

As clumsy as I am, I should wear a helmet all the time.
