I need a new gas cap seal. I went to my Honda dealer and they can't find the part #. Said I would have to buy the whole gas cap.
What are you guys using to fix this?

Cut a piece of inner-tube (or like thin rubber) and sister it up on top of what's there. (what I have read, my gaskets remain good)

I think I read where you take the original off and put the extra underneath. Are you pretty sure that is the source?

I have repaired mine I think three times in about 13 years. Carefully peal the rubber gasket off and cut a new one to place underneath it. Ten minute fix.
You think Honda would make a replacement though.

Just a thought: How does air get into the tank to replace the gas as it comes out?

I believe that is what the vent line at the back of the tank is for, unless I'm mistaken.
