UUUUUM......grease it? cooldude Actually, remove the screw pin that holds the lever on, and apply the grease to that. You can pull the lever off, and put some on the contact points as well cooldude

Also grease the brass barrel in the lever. that is separate from the pivot.

Check to see if the brass bushing is worn into a less than circular pattern, if so replace it.

A shot of oil every now and then is what's required.

Seeing the assembly is in the windstream all of the time, it necessarily needs regular maintenance.
