2000 I/S

West Tennessee

« on: August 20, 2012, 04:35:07 AM »

Was riding my I/S yesterday evening and met a guy on a I/S trike with cruise control. The control panel was mounted on the left handlebar and he said the actual unit was under the seat. I looked it over and the Valk was NOT desmogged and I could find no "extra" stuff under the carbs. He said it works great. He could not recall the name of the company but knew it was in AUSTRALIA. This was a black/gold 2001 Interstate that had been triked. It had 15,000 miles and was flawless. We saw each other near Camden, TN, and he was from the area. Thought someone may know the bike and have more info on the cruise control.  Thanks!

Yes, the mc cruise is the neatest installation on the market.

I've had one on MGM since winter of 1998, and 230K miles.
NO problems, works great, holds speed to within 2 or 3 + - and any time you set Resume.      Expensive, but in my book it is well worth the coins.

The Company in Australia has made several changes to it since I bought mine, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy another if I needed it.

If you have an Interstate, this is the kit people are using.

It is also one of the things i would really like to see on my bike.

Thanks for the replies. It was MC. I looked it up and its expensive, but looks clean and I could install it. Can't justify the $1000.00 price tag right now.

Interesting! this looks like a good product but a bit pricey.  I'm going to investigate and consider this addition to my bike.  thanks for your valued input RJ.  Anyone else using this?  and what are your thoughts?

I haven't seen one of those installed on an Interstate yet. I certainly would be interested to get some more information if someone who has installed it can chime in.

There are several i have heard having these kits, now that im in a hurry, i cant find them, but there are a number of users that have it.

IIRC the vacuum version of this kit is a copy of the audiovox mc cruse kit. And the only difference on this one is it does not use the vacuum. Personally, im not a fan of vacuum, so this looks like it would work better for me.

correct the rostra 100 is similar to the mc cruise in that it is fully electronic and as the I/S has an electronic speedo, voila
