My 440's need to be refurbished.  I bought them new from HDL, probably in 2001-2002.   I contacted them (HDL) last year when I knew these needed attention for proof of purchase because I do not have the receipt anymore.  I never heard a word from them.  Pisses me off because I couldn't ever imagine how much of my money I have given them over the years.

So this is going to cost me.  Has anyone else paid Progressive for this job?  How much did it cost?

I think you can ask progressive that question, they are a good company and will probably honor your warranty.

I finally went down enough pig trails that my 440s started leaking...
I rooted around in my old mailbox and found my five year old "email receipt" from
HDL, and Progressive honored that.

If you don't hang onto old emails, give HDL a polite phone call... if their records go back that far,
they might provide you with something that Progressive will honor...

When I upgraded my springs Progressive did a bang up job (I wondered if the shocks they
sent back were new) and didn't charge too much  - way less than new 440s... don't remember
exactly.

I believe they have an 800 # listed on their web site. Sometimes a phone call will work better than a computer-SOMETIMES.  2funny Let us know plz how this plays out. Myself and many others spend money there.  cooldude RIDE SAFE.

+1 on calling tech support at Progressive...they will be able to quote a price for rebuild.

You might want to ask if the rebuild comes with the lifetime warranty just in case you need repairs in the future.

I called progressive to get my trailer shocks repaired. They said they could fix them for $5 less than Hannigan wanted for full new replacements.  tickedoff

I know that Progressive HAS in the past repaired my 440 shocks because I complained that they were impossible to adjust buy hand. They came back looking new, but I still can't adjust them by hand.

And to be honest I don't even know who I bought them from, HDL I suppose, but I know I don't have a receipt.

They wanted $150 a piece to R&R mine since I wasnt the original owner.
CS also suggested that I not send them back unless they were leaking.
I just wanted them cleaned up and lighter springs put on.

Ain't trying to be a smart ass Steve, but why don't you call Progressive for that information?

They have a hell of a great Customer Service group that know their stuff.    They redid mine but it was so long ago I have no idea what it cost me.    I know it was cheaper than buying new shocks.
